The
Old Rattle-Drum is a Legendary Key Item in Black Myth: Wukong that players will receive upon defeating the
Tiger's Acolyte in Yellow Wind Ridge. As is the case with many of the game's Key Items, the Old Rattle-Drum's function is not made immediately obvious, and some fans may be confused about what they should do with it. This guide is here to alleviate that confusion, and it will help players complete the Old-Rattle Drum quest in Black Myth: Wukong.
All the Keeper's Shrines and areas that are referenced in this guide are within Yellow Wind Ridge, Black Myth: Wukong's second level.
Black Myth Wukong: All Black Wind Mountain Boss Locations (Chapter 1)
This guide will help players find the Yaoguai Chiefs and Kings in Black Myth: Wukong's Forest of Wolves, Bamboo Grove, and Black Wind Cave.
Black Myth Wukong: Old Rattle-Drum Quest Walkthrough
Get Old Rattle-Drum
The first step toward completing this Black Myth: Wukong quest is obtaining the
Old Rattle-Drum, and, as has been previously indicated, it is earned by beating the
Tiger's Acolyte. While it is expected that most readers will have already found this Yaoguai Chief, he is situated on a bridge that is beyond the Windrest Hamlet Keeper's Shrine in the Yellow Wind Formation. Players can access that area after defeating the Tiger Vanguard in the Crouching Tiger Temple, and the video that is above depicts the path from that boss's arena to the
Tiger's Acolyte bridge.
Use Old Rattle-Drum Near Windseal Gate
Players should now travel to the Windseal Gate Keeper's Shrine in Yellow Wind Formation and follow the path forward until they reach a simple bridge. After dispatching the enemy on the far side of the bridge, fans of action games should go left to pass underneath a wooden structure. Players will now find themselves in a small area with a chest, and they will be prompted to use the rattle when they enter it.
Use Old Rattle-Drum Near Windrest Bridge
Players should now make their way to the Windrest Bridge Keeper's Shrine in Yellow Wind Formation and enter the village that is beyond that checkpoint. More specifically, fans must reach the area that is just to the right of where they obtain the
Rat Imperial Guard Spirit in Black Myth: Wukong. Here, players will find three Withered Foes crouched in front of a door, and they will be prompted to use the rattle as they approach those enemies.
Use Old Rattle-Drum Near Village Entrance
Players should now go to the Village Entrance Keeper's Shrine in Sandgate Village, cross the nearby bridge, and pass through the gate to enter the
Earth Wolf arena. There is a wooden structure with a statue on the left side of that arena, and there is a well to its left. Fans of games inspired by Chinese mythology should approach that well, use the rattle when they are prompted to do so, and then descend into the water hole.
Beat Mad Tiger
Once players reach the Bottom of the Well, they can set their sights on defeating the
Mad Tiger. When that Yaoguai Chief has been slain, fans can absorb its spirit and loot the nearby chest, which holds the
Plaguebane Gourd.
