Resolute Counterflow is a skill in Black Myth: Wukong that is found at the top of the Smash Stance section within the Staff Stances tree. Players who unlock the skill will gain the ability to nullify the damage of an incoming attack by performing a Resolute Strike at the correct time. Executing that maneuver can be a bit tricky, though, and this guide is here to help fans who may be struggling to take advantage of the Black Myth: Wukong's Resolute Counterflow skill.
Black Myth Wukong: Resolute Counterflow, Explained
To begin, it is important to establish exactly how a Resolute Strike is executed. First, Black Myth: Wukong players must build at least one Focus Point, a resource that is represented by the circles and meter in the bottom-right corner of the screen. For full clarity, Focus Points are gained by striking enemies and performing Perfect Dodges, and one of the aforementioned circles will fill when a point has been earned.

Once a player has earned a Focus Point, they are ready to execute a Resolute Strike. To perform the maneuver, players should initiate a Light Attack Combo by striking an enemy with Light Attacks. Fans of action games can then press Heavy Attack at any point during the combo to consume their Focus Point and cause the Destined One to perform a Resolute Strike, which manifests as an overhead attack.
With that established, the key to Resolute Counterflow is unleashing Resolute Strike at exactly the right time. More specifically, the Resolute Strike needs to occur at the same time as an incoming attack. This typically means transitioning from the Light Attack Combo to the Heavy Attack just as the Black Myth: Wukong enemy begins to perform an attack of their own, and there will be an explosion around the Destined One's staff if the player's timing was precise enough to receive the benefits of Resolute Counterflow.
Players who are having trouble with their Resolute Counterflow timing are advised to slow down their Light Attacks. These fans may also want to try transitioning from the Light Attack Combo to the Heavy Attack earlier in their target's attack animation.
To note, a majority of the skills that are below Resolute Counterflow in the Staff Stances tree only grant benefits after a Resolute Counterflow is performed. However, one of the skills, Skyfall Strike, only requires players to connect with a Resolute Strike. This skill allows Black Myth: Wukong's Destined One to use a Focus Point to perform a followup attack after landing a Resolute Strike, and it can be extremely powerful. Indeed, even if a player is unable to consistently perform Resolute Counterflows, they should definitely consider picking up Skyfall Strike from this path.
