Black Myth Wukong: How to Unlock Armor Upgrading & Seed Planting

The first step toward unlocking the ability to upgrade armor and plant seeds is reaching Black Myth: Wukong's third chapter. This chapter takes place in the New West, and fans must progress along the critical path until they arrive at Bitter Lake. More specifically, players must reach the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Keeper's Shrine, which is near to the level's midpoint.

After visiting the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Keeper's Shrine, players should situate themselves so that the body of water is on their left. Fans should then follow the water until they see a dragon standing within it. This dragon is Black Myth: Wukong's Chen Loong, and players should approach him to initiate a fight.

Once Chen Loong is defeated, the dragon will indicate that he needs Xu Dog's resurrection pills, and players should set their sights on obtaining a suitable item. To do this, fans should use Black Myth: Wukong's fast-travel mechanic to quickly return to the Cellar Keeper's Shrine in Yellow Wind Ridge's Crouching Tiger Temple. For full clarity, that is the checkpoint that players visited before fighting the Yellow Wind Sage at the end of Chapter 2, and Xu Dog is in the alcove directly next to it.

Players should now simply interact with Xu Dog and select the "Talk" option to obtain a Special-made Bone-Strengthening Pellet. Fans should then return to Chen Loong near the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Keeper's Shrine in the New West and deliver the medicine. This action will teleport the Destined One to Zodiac Village, and it is there that players can upgrade their armor and plant their seeds.

More specifically, Black Myth: Wukong players can plant seeds by speaking with Chen Loong, who can be found at the top of the small staircase to the right, and they can upgrade their armor by speaking with Yin Tiger, who can be found just past the gate to the left. While these processes are quite straightforward, it may be worth noting that seed planting is done by selecting Chen Loong's "Deliver Seeds" option, and armor upgrading is done by selecting Yin Tiger's "Craft" and "Upgrade Armor" options.

Players can return to Zodiac Village after this preliminary visit by interacting with a Keeper's Shrine, selecting "Travel," selecting " Ruyi Scroll," and selecting "Village Entrance."
