There are no checkpoints in Black Myth: Wukong, but the Keeper's Shrines serve as one. It's advised that you keep an eye out for these shrines when exploring new regions. Activating a Keeper's Shrine gives you the security and confidence to venture further into unknown territories inhabited by unknown perils.

Upon death, the Destined One respawns at the Keeper's Shrine, but also do the common enemies that you defeated before dying. You can replenish your resources or even respec the Monkey King before retracing your steps back to the enemies that defeated you.

Keeper's Shrines are more than just checkpoints in Black Myth: Wukong, they also serve as in-world hubs for the players to manage their inventory, reallocate skill points, and fast travel. So, it's crucial to locate these shrines to not only travel seamlessly between different regions, but also avoid backtracking if you happen to die fighting a boss in a distant region. Most boss areas typically have a Keeper's Shrine nearby, so it's worth finding and activating it before proceeding to put your staff to the test.
