The finale of Black Ops 6 Zombies has arrived with Reckoning, the last map that takes the Requim crew to the Project Janus HQ. With a quest to stabilize the Aether Reactors and unleash the Sentinel Artifact, the former members of Requim will be forced to make unwilling deals with rivals if they are to survive and save the day. The Reckoning easter egg in BO6 Zombies is simpler to complete than one might initially think, so check out the step-by-step guide below so that you can get to the Reckoning final cutscene and defeat the boss, regardless of whether you're on team Richtofen or team S.A.M.

Step 1: Melee the Mop Bucket at Spawn Underneath the Sprinkler

mop bucket at spawn

While this isn't necessarily the first step, it is one that is the most important to get right since it can be a tad broken. Once players spawn, look immediately to your right to find a mop bucket. Players can then hit the mop bucket with their melee button to push it around. They will want to push it until it is underneath the sprinkler system in the spawn room. Doing so should immediately activate the sprinklers and fill the mop bucket with water. This will be used for a later step, and there are other sprinkler locations in Reckoning, but sometimes, they do not work. For players stuck on this step (later on), try and look for the sprinkler and mop buckets in T2 Android Assembly and T1 Executive Suite.

Step 2: Activate Pack-a-Punch

turning on pack-a-punch

The easter egg will begin once players manage to access Pack-a-Punch. This isn't too hard to do, and it simply requires points so players can open doors. Proceed to follow the objectives on your HUD to make it into Richtofen's Office, and then activate the snow globe to reveal the teleporter that takes you to T2 Sublevel 10. From here, interact with the Particle Accelerator terminal and destroy the Dark Aether crystals that are blocking Pack-a-Punch from appearing.

Step 3: Build Franken-Klaus

At this point, players should have had at least 2 Max Ammo rounds where Kommando Klaus spawns. These enemies will drop a Klaus Arm, but only if players kill them after shooting their arms off. Players will need 2 separate Kommando Klaus rounds to get 2 Arms, where they can then head to the T2 Android Assembly. Inside this large room, players can find white robotic legs that can be picked up. The common spawns for these are at the northwest wall by the assembly line and on the ground by an open door at the west wall. With all 4 limbs, build Klaus underneath the android assembly room at the southwest wall, but players cannot activate him until they get an Uber Klaus to spawn at Round 16.

Step 4: Acquire the Keycard in the T1 Mutant Research Lab

For the next step, players will want to head to the T1 Mutant Research Lab (right of spawn). Inside this area, players can wait around for a specific zombie to spawn called the Geneticist. This lab zombie will drop a Keycard when eliminated, and players can use that keycard to interact with a locked fridge opposite the clone tube of Richtofen's family in the T1 Mutant Research Test Area. With the fridge now open, pick up the DNA Vial.

Step 5: Fight Dr. Fowler and Access the Secret Teleporter Room

Before leaving the T1 Mutant Research Lab, interact with the centrifuge box to the right of the Mangler to get the Syringe. With the Syringe obtained, head down to Pack-a-Punch and jump into the Particle Accelerator from the west side. This will see you transform into an orb, and during this orb form, you will need to avoid obstacles and hit into the corpse. With the corpse successfully hit, interact with it on the ground to get the Blood Sample, and take this quest item back to T1 Mutant Research Lab.

Interact with the same centrifuge where you got the Syringe to place the Blood Sample, which will start a fight against a Mangler and an Elder Disciple, so make sure you are equipped for this early-game battle. After defeat, the Mangler will drop the Fowler-Mutant Injection, a scorestreak that only has one specific gimmick. Take this Mutant Injection to the T2 Dark Entity Containment and head to the southeast wall. Interact with the red scanner on the left of the closed door and immediately use the Mutant Injection, which will open the door. If players fail this step, the Mutant Injection can be purchased from the Centrifuge for 1,500 Salvage.

Step 6: Craft the Gorgofex Wonder Weapon

obtaining gorgofex

The next step requires players to build Klaus, which requires an Uber Klaus, but they only spawn on Round 16 upwards. As such, let's complete a step early by grabbing the Gorgofex wonder weapon. A more detailed guide can be found here, but here are the basic steps:

  • Look at the 2 static terminals found in the T1 Mutant Research Lab and make note of the first letter of each word. Check the periodic table to find the combination of the 2 letters to get your element, and then find the atomic number associated with the element.
  • Type the number into the keypad upstairs by Richtofen's family, and if it's a 2 digit number, then the first number is always 0.
  • Injure/kill 3 Parasites at the Cyst found at the east wall in this new room, then do the same for 3 zombies, which will allow you to pick up the Cyst once their souls have been transferred inside, one at a time.
  • Take the Cyst to the T1 Quantum Computing Core and stand underneath the large yellow glowing plants to steal their heatlh, and repeat this at 2 additional plant locations.
  • Visit T2 Dark Entity Containment and activate the terminals that say Initiate Surge. There are 4 in total. Doing so spawns an Uber Klaus.
  • Destroy the Uber Klaus' shield pauldrons on his shoulders, and then lure him to the Forsaken
  • Kill the Forsaken, who is now in the Uber Klaus' body, and interact with the glowing orb from its corpse to get the Gorgofex.

Step 7: Activate Franken-Klaus and Help Him Reach His Destination

In Round 16, players will encounter their first Uber Klaus. Lure this Elite enemy to the T2 Android Assembly, and make sure its electric blast shoots Franken-Klaus to activate him. Franken-Klaus will now work on the terminal in the room where he was activated, and players simply have to pass the next round. On the next round, guide Franken-Klaus to the T2 Dark Entity Containment's downstairs area, and activate the S.A.M. Trial that appears here. If there is no S.A.M. Trial, then pass a few more rounds.

After the S.A.M. Trial has been completed, Klaus will enter the T2 Teleportation Lab which you opened with the Mutant Injection, and now players can follow him inside and listen to his dialogue so that they can accomplish the next step, which is another puzzle, but an easy one.

Step 8: Find the 4-Digit Password to the Teleportation Lab Computer

finding a SAM File

The next step involves finding a 4-digit password to access a computer terminal to the left of Franken-Klaus in the T2 Teleportation Lab. There are going to be 4 files found in Reckoning, and players will need to locate each of these S.A.M. Files to find the number associated with the artifact, and the number associated with the archived date. The puzzle can be solved by looking at the artifact's name, so in this case, it's "1. Notso's Collar", so now we know that "1" is one of the password numbers. We can tell where the number is placed in the sequence by the date, which, here, is "7/15/1985". If the other files found have dates after July 15, 1985, then they are the later numbers in the sequence, meaning the password starts with "1" (for us, anyway). Here's where players can find all S.A.M. Files, but there are only 4 each game:

  • On a computer desk at the T2 Teleportation Lab
  • On Richtofen's desk in the T1 Director's Office
  • On a shelf in the T1 Director's Office
  • On a coffee table in the T1 Director's Office
  • On a table in the T1 Executive Suite
  • On a desk in the T1 Executive Suite
  • On a coffee table in the T1 Executive Suite

With the password discovered, enter it into the terminal to the right of Franken-Klaus to proceed to the next step, which doesn't involve any more puzzles.

Step 9: Upgrade the Gorgofex by Helping Blanchard OR Panos

killing panos

For this step, players can help Panos or Blanchard to receive the upgraded version of Gorgofex, which can also be Pack-a-Punched. Players can find detailed guides on how to do both quests here, but they can only do one for the easter egg. The easiest and best upgrade involves helping Blanchard, and here are the basics in order to get the Gorgofex C:

  • Interact with the black door in T1 Executive Suite to talk to Blanchard.
  • Press the red button in the T1 Project Janus Reception by the teleporter.
  • Protect the Maintenance Klaus from purple-eyed zombies.
  • Access the elevator to T1 Mutant Research Lab and parachute down into T1 Quantum Computing Core's elevator shaft, hitting the red buttons as you go down.
  • Kill blue-eyed zombies in T1 Quantum Computing with the Gorgofex
  • Interact with Panos in the T1 Quantum Computing to get the Gorgofex C upgrade.

Step 10: Transport the Dark Aether Brain to the Teleportation Lab

Still inside the T1 Quantum Computing area, players can use Melee Machiatto to punch a Project Janus terminal, which will reveal a purple brain. Pick up the purple brain and run it back to the Teleportation Lab with Franken-Klaus, and place it in the red terminal to his left to turn the light green and complete this step.

Step 11: Use the Particle Accelerator to Activate the Teleportation Lab's Portal

With the upgraded Gorgofex, go back to T2 Sublevel 10 and interact with the particle accelerator's terminals where you initially turned them on for Pack-a-Punch. This will see the blue beam turn red, and it will also spawn an abundance of spectral Vermin on the walls and ceiling. Kill them with the Gorgofex, and kill other zombies with the Gorgofex to send enough souls to the device where you initially pressed the button. Now, interact with this glowing blue device, and do not fire your weapon. Take the Gorgofex back to the Teleportation Lab and fire a charged shot at the Dark Aether crystals blocking the teleporter in this room with the glowing blue shot acquired from the particle accelerator.

Step 12: Clean the Fungal Head and Provide it with Souls

For this step, take the Gorgofex back to T1 Quantum Computing and look up at the north wall. Fire a charged shot into the open window that has a Dark Aether plant and a white light to drop the Fungal Head, which can now be picked up. With this Fungal Head, players are going to want to take it back to the mop bucket that they activated in spawn, which by now, should be filled with water. Pick the now cleaned head back up, and begin killing purple-eyed zombies with the Fungal Head, which will see souls transported into the head.

Players will know that they have killed enough zombies as no more purple-eyed zombies will spawn, so players can safely take it back to the Teleportation Room where they can place it on the portal itself. Be warned, holding the Fungal Head means you cannot run, and a shadowy entity will chase you to slowly eat your health, so only pick it up when you're ready.

Step 13: Use 4 Vacuum-Seal Devices to Acquire Dark Aether-Infected items

The final main step of the easter egg involves picking up Vacuum-Seal Devices, which are basically mini-Gersh Devices. These items can be picked up in specific spots, and they replace the tactical grenade. With the Vacuum-Seal Device, throw it at specific purple-glowing items that are found across the T1 tower. Here's where we found the purple items and the Vacuum-Seal Device crates:

Vacuum-Seal Device Location

Purple Item Location

T2 Teleportation Lab, to the left of Klaus

T1 Director's Office, in the upstairs area

T2 Android Assembly, in the southwest corner

T1 Project Janus Reception, in the central room

T1 Mutant Research Test Area, at the whiteboard near PhD Flopper

T1 Mutant Research Lab, by Deadshot Daiquiri

T1 Quantum Computing Lab, on the east wall

T1 Quantum Computing Lab, outside area

T1 Director's Office, east wall to the left of the Arsenal

T1 Mutant Research Lab

With 4 of these Vacuum-Seal Devices filled with an item, head back to T2 Teleportation Lab and interact with the central terminal opposite the portal. If players interact with this terminal, they will begin a lockdown where they must interact with 3 red switches within the room while zombies flood from the portal, so make sure you have enough equipment to fight the hordes while you wait for the next red switch to appear.

Step 14: Prepare for the Boss Fight and Interact with the Portal When Ready

When players are ready, they can interact with the portal in the Teleportation Lab. However, players will need to make sure that they are prepared for a tough fight ahead. Bring all Perks, Tier 3 Armor, Tier 5 weapons, along with a Tier 3 Pack-a-Punch gun. Once you're ready to go, head into the portal where you will be faced with a choice: Choose to help Richtofen or S.A.M.

  • If you pick Richtofen, you will fight S.A.M. (Easier fight)
  • If you pick S.A.M., you will fight Richtofen. (Harder fight)

We decided to fight S.A.M., as we wanted the story to conclude with us helping Richtofen, but the rewards are the same regardless, as is the final cutscene. It's only the boss fight that changes.

Step 15: Defeat S.A.M. Or Richtofen

The final step has arrived, where players will go up the elevator with the Sentinel Artifact once they have cast their vote to help S.A.M. Or Richtofen. There are two phases before players get to the boss fight, and the first phase involves filling up 3 soul cannisters by killing zombies. Once done, head to the elevator to go to the next floor, where you will have to destroy all of the purple crystals. You will know this step is done, as you will receive dialogue. After which, it's time to enter the boss room.

For S.A.M., players can only damage her after she's fired her laser attack, or during her attack, where she rains down electrified orbs that deal plenty of damage. The best way to safely attack S.A.M. Is to focus on controlling the crowd of zombies and only attacking her critical spots when she's finished her laser beam, or when you're in a safe spot from her electrified orbs, so you can shoot back at her. Every 25% health lost, S.A.M. Will teleport away and start a S.A.M. Trial. Completing it grants a free Perk, but failing it provides a random debuff for 30 seconds.

For Richtofen, players will have to fight an Uber Richtofen, which is just Richtofen in the same mech suit as Klaus, all while fighting Kommando Klaus variants. Richtofen's shoulders and pauldrons are his weak spots, and once Uber Klaus is defeated, he will exit via a jetpack, making him a far more agile target who also fires airstrikes from above. Richtofen shoots a Wunderwaffe, so just track him in the sky and shoot him, but this is a far harder fight than S.A.M.

Regardless of who the players fight, as soon as the boss is eliminated, the final cutscene will play.
