- Use Quick Fix and Survivor upgrades for faster health regeneration and multitasking during firefights.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's single-player campaign is anchored around the Rook, a safehouse in Bulgaria the player visits between most missions. With money earned during missions or found in the safehouse itself, players can buy upgrades to improve their combat performance. These range from stat-based upgrades to abilities.
10 Most Fun Game Modes In Black Ops 6
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 features a bevvy of multiplayer modes; some familiar, others totally unique. These are the best modes of the bunch.
It is worth finding all the safes and getting as much money as possible to buy as many of these upgrades during a playthrough. The list below should help anyone who is thinking of what to prioritize. Fortunately, gamers who rack up a lot of cash will have more than enough to buy than the listed upgrades by the end of the campaign.
Before buying the upgrades themselves, players need to buy three separate gear stations, each of which costs $500.
1 Vitality Surge
Get More Health
|
Rank 1 |
Increase total health by 15% |
Cost |
$200 |
|
Rank 2 |
Increase total health by 25% |
Cost |
$250 |
Players have more health than they do in multiplayer, but enemies still have the ability to take out the hero quickly. With this in mind, players should bulk up their health as soon as possible. The checkpoint system in Black Ops 6 is forgiving, but it is still frustrating to die during a firefight and repeat it several times.
Vitality Surge might be a simple health boost, but a simple health boost is always welcome if it helps keep players in the fight a little longer.
2 Heavy Duty
More Armor To Take More Damage
|
Rank 1 |
Two armor slots, can hold four plates in reserve |
Cost |
$200 |
|
Rank 2 |
Three armor slots, can hold six plates in reserve |
Cost |
$250 |
Some Call of Duty titles give players armor slots to put in and have a little more health than usual. It's an idea taken from Warzone and its inclusion in the campaigns feels nice. At the start of Black Ops 6 players only have one armor slot and can only have three armor plates in reserve.
With the Heavy Duty upgrade, the slots increase to two and then eventually three, while the plates in reserve go to four and then six. More armor is just as good as having more health, so this paired with Vitality Surge will make the player a walking tank.
3 Steady Stance
Less Recoil Means Better Accuracy
|
Rank 1 |
Recoil reduced by 20% |
Cost |
$200 |
|
Rank 2 |
Recoil reduced by 40% |
Cost |
$250 |
In multiplayer, players are generally advised to put attachments on their weapons to decrease recoil and have a steadier shot. The same applies to single-player. Though enemies are not as accurate as human players, having less recoil is still preferred during heavy firefights when enemies surround the player.
Less recoil with automatic weapons also ensures the entire burst of ammunition hits the intended target. When elite enemies start showing up in the campaign, Steady Stance becomes even more useful since players need to unload a whole clip into them at once.
4 Armor Shredder
Armor Cannot Stop These Bullets
|
Rank 1 |
Armored enemies take 15% more damage |
Cost |
$200 |
|
Rank 2 |
Armored enemies take 25% more damage |
Cost |
$250 |
This one can wait for a little bit, but players will want it before too long. Elite enemies show up by the second half of the Most Wanted mission in Washington D.C. And they can be a real pain if one is not ready for them. With Armor Shredder, attacks do more damage against them.
They still will not go down as fast as regular enemies but they will not pose as much of a threat as before. Doing 25% more damage to these enemies makes a huge difference in the time-to-kill.
5 Tempered
Use Fewer Plates
- Refill three armor slots with two plates
- Cost: $400
Resource management is more important in this title than in previous Call of Duty games. At one moment players might feel like they have an abundance of armor only to be desperately needing more after a rough encounter. This is where Tempered comes in.
It increases the amount of armor each plate gives the player, requiring just two to max out instead of three. It might not be realistic in the slightest, but who needs realism when it comes to upgrades that help win the fight?
6 Unrelenting Gunner
Heavy Weapons Stop Weighing The Player Down
- Move 25% faster with heavy weapons
- Cost: $250
Heavy weapons always seem cool but not being able to put them away in the inventory and the slow movement make them less desirable. Unrelenting Gunner at least solves the second problem. With it, players move 25% faster with the heavy weapons often dropped by elite enemies.
Best Strategies to Stay Alive in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer
Black Ops 6's Multiplayer is a reinvention of the popular and high-octane PvP, and returning players might need some tips to survive.
Slow movement can cost players a game over, so being more mobile with the heavy weapon is a huge plus. With the increased armor and health from the other safehouse upgrades, players can feel like elite enemies themselves while taking out a group of adversaries.
7 Quick Fix
Multitask Shooting And Refilling Armor
|
Rank 1 |
Insert armor plates with one hand |
Cost |
$400 |
|
Rank 2 |
Health regenerates when inserting armor and killing elite enemies |
Cost |
$450 |
In a fast-paced firefight, anything that prevents the player from shooting is a setback. Sometimes players do not have the time or space to go into cover and refill their armor if their health is low and they need a moment of respite. If they stop firing to put in another plate, it would leave them vulnerable and likely lead to a game over.
With Quick Fix, players can now load up new armor plates with one hand while continuing to fire with the other, making sure the stream of bullets never stops. Just as helpful as this ability is the fact that putting in the armor starts regenerating health right away.
8 Survivor
Get Back Into The Fight Faster
- Regenerate Health Faster
- Cost: $400
Players caught out in the open are going to lose health fast. When this happens, one wants to find a hiding spot and regenerate their health. While not the first FPS game to have this system in place of more traditional health pickups, regenerating health quickly became the norm in the genre after 2007's Modern Warfare and the series still uses this practice.
Survivor gives players a little boost to the amount of time it takes to regenerate health. It helps players get back into the fight quicker and prevents enemies from cornering them as a result of hiding for too long.
