The Call of Duty blog describes Augments as a "rich and innovative customization experience." Augments allow players to customize their favorite Perks, Field Upgrades, and Ammo Mods with a variety of modifiers that are split into Major and Minor categories.

In total, there are three Major and three Minor Augments for players to unlock for every single Field Upgrade, Perk, and Ammo Mod in Black Ops 6 Zombies, opening the door for players to modify items to suit their own style of play. Minor Augments offer a limited advantage that often appears when an item is used while Major Augments offer what Treyarch describes as a "substantial advantage" when an item is being used.

All Ammo Mods, Field Upgrades, and Perks in Black Ops 6 Zombies feature individual progression trees known as Research Paths. Players can access a Research Path in the pre-game lobby to see what Augments are available to select.

To unlock more Augments for even more customization opportunities, all players need to do is play Black Ops 6 Zombies on the Terminus or Liberty Falls maps when the game releases on October 25.
