Summary
- Treyarch is addressing cheating in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play with new solutions.
- Cheaters are a major issue in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play, especially at high levels.
Treyarch has addressed its initial plan to tackle the ongoing cheating problem in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Ranked Play game mode. The fight against cheaters in online games is a never-ending battle, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is just the latest title to suffer, with players reporting issues at this early stage.
Ranked Play released for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, bringing the highly anticipated competitive mode into the game. However, its launch was not without its hiccups. Black Ops 6's Ranked Play has been plagued with cheaters, with many professional players and content creators complaining about the current state of the mode. It seems especially prevalent at a high level, with cheaters naturally being placed alongside the best players.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Call for Removal of Controversial Feature
A large portion of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players call for developer Treyarch Studios to remove one of the game's most controversial features.
In a post on X, it was confirmed that Treyarch is working on some solutions to fix this ongoing cheating issue in Black Ops 6's Ranked Play. It will be undertaking "aggressive targeting of suspicious accounts" while also "accelerating Replay Investigations to review suspicious players." Although this sounds a little vague, it seems as though more manpower resources will be assigned to take a look at any player marked suspicious in Ranked Play. Many of these cheaters are blatant wallhackers and aimlockers, so upon review, these cases should prove to be pretty open and shut.
Black Ops 6 is Working on Solutions For Ranked Play Cheating Problem
It's worth remembering that before launch, Activision claimed it wants to ban cheaters from Black Ops 6 within one hour of their first match. However, Ranked Play requires that players must first win 50 matches before they can even take part, yet cheaters are still finding a way in. This could be down to cheaters only using their third-party tools after getting access to Ranked Play, but even then, it doesn't seem as though players are being banned within one hour at the moment. Hopefully, this plan goes some way to resolving the cheating problem, even if it's simply the first steps in a longer journey.
Cheating issue aside, there's plenty for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fans to be excited about in the near future. Season 1 is ongoing, and with it, a stream of content is arriving in the game. December 5 is set to be a huge day for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fans, thanks to the arrival of the new Zombies map, Citadelle Des Morts. Treyarch has done a great job so far of keeping the live-service game fresh, so hopefully it continues at this rate.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
