6 Light Mind

Big Game & Extra Strength

Bullets deal light damage. Each bullet has a chance to transform a normal or special enemy's health into a healing glyph that moves to nearby injured allies.

The best Major Augment for Light Mend is easily Big Game, as this will make Light Mend work against elite enemies, and considering most maps have the dreaded Amalgam, being able to take down almost half of its health with one lucky activation from Light Mend, is going to really make for an easier time.

5 Brain Rot

Extension & Pheromone

Bullets deal toxic damage. Each bullet has a chance to temporarily turn a normal or special enemy into an ally.

This is already extremely useful, since it’s essentially a co-op partner, except it’s one that’s slowly rotting away and won’t revive you.

For the Major Augment, Pheromone is a great choice considering it will turn this charmed zombie into somewhat of a Monkey Bomb. Enemies will become distracted by the Brain Rot affected zombie, thus forcing a chaotic fight where players can sit back and get some easy kills – essential for high-round plays where there are dozens of Manglers.

4 Cryo Freeze

Liquid Nitrogen & Ice Cloud

Bullets deal frost damage. Each bullet has a chance to slow a normal or special enemy and increase the damage they receive.
Effective Against: Parasites, Vermin

3 Dead Wire

Haste & Lightning Strike

Bullets deal electric damage. Each bullet has a chance to stun a normal or special enemy, causing them to generate an electric damage field.

Dead Wire isn’t just a great Ammo Mod for obtaining a free Beamsmasher on Terminus, it’s actually extremely viable for fighting the hordes thanks to the fact that it can stun zombies and Manglers, and also provide an electric damage field. With the Haste Minor Augment, the cooldown for using this Ammo Mod is slightly reduced, which leads to the Major Augment.

The Major Augment that pairs well with Haste is Lightning Strike, which will see a powerful bolt of lightning strike from above, much like Thor’s Hammer. All zombies and special zombies within the area will be stunned, allowing players to maximize their damage output as they unleash leads to the hordes.

2 Napalm Burst

Incendiary & Thermite

Bullets deal fire damage. Each bullet has a chance to apply a burn effect on normal and special enemies, dealing damage over time.
Effective Against: Manglers, Abomination

Paired with the Major Augment, Thermite, players will have an increased amount of damage dealt from combusting enemies, so those on fire will burn faster, harder, and better. Manglers also take extra damage from Napalm Burst, so being able to spread it around is great for dealing with those monstrosities that don’t stop spawning on higher rounds.

1 Shadow Rift

Bullets deal shadow damage. Each bullet has a chance to spawn a black hole on a normal or special enemy, warping away those nearby and dropping some from the air at lethal speed.

Shadow Rift might seem like just a standard Ammo Mod at first, but when the random effect to summon a black hole occurs which will rip a zombie up and spit them out from the sky, players will know they’ve made the right choice. To see further benefits from this black hole effect, the Minor Augment Supermassive will make the singularity spawn more lethal with increased damage to kill more than just one zombie.

When combined with the Topple Danger Major Augment, those affected by the warp can deal shadow damage to other zombies nearby, which will further disrupt the train in positive ways as players will have extra damage sources.
