Bloober Team has just updated a website potentially teasing its next video game. The website contains a countdown that's set to end on Valentine's Day, along with a fresh tagline and a particularly creepy audio snippet that could be a hint towards the unannounced Bloober Team game's narrative themes.
Founded in 2008, Bloober Team has been around for a long time, but it's arguably best known for its work in the horror space over the last decade or so. Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, and The Medium all grabbed the gaming industry's attention, though it was the recent one-two punch of the Silent Hill 2 Remake and Cronos: The New Dawn that really cemented Bloober Team as a household name in the horror gaming scene. While the former project showed Bloober's astonishing ability to faithfully remake one of the most acclaimed horror games of all time, the latter proved that the studio was also still more than capable of making original IPs with novel concepts.
'Could Only Exist on Nintendo Hardware' Silent Hill Developer Teases Switch 2 Exclusive Game
Bloober Team's Project M is still mysterious, but the developer's CEO claims that the Switch 2 is the perfect home for the title.
Bloober Team Is Teasing a Big Valentine's Day Announcement
On December 31 (US time), Bloober Team posted a link to a mysterious website on its socials with the caption "Dare to peek into the darkness...". This website (remosdneulserorehsoovamceyerd.com) simply featured a countdown timer that was set to end on February 14, 2026 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET, or 12am UTC on February 15. Many believe that this website is teasing Bloober Team's next project, and that the game will be officially announced when the countdown ends.
On January 28, Bloober Team's eerie website was updated. The same blood-red countdown clock is there, but just above it now sits a new image of a red rose that appears to be bleeding. Underneath the rose is a new line of text that reads, "Some things never leave the walls. They only learn to wait." And below that line of text is the icon of a play button that begins to bleed when the cursor hovers over it. Pressing the play button begins an unsettling audio clip that says the following:
"Thou art sick...invisible...flies in the night...howling storm has found out thy bed of crimson joy...dark secret...thy life destroy."
Delivered in a truly menacing tone, these lines come from a William Blake poem titled The Sick Rose. While this poem may have just been chosen for its ominous wording, it could be a hint of the themes of Bloober Team's new game. Though The Sick Rose has many interpretations, many revolve around themes of sexual desire, innocence, and destruction/death, all of which are prime subject matter for a horror game.
While this Bloober Team project likely won't be officially announced until Valentine's Day, a leak from the start of this year could point towards a potential title for the game. Soon after Bloober's teaser website went live, Reddit user Solid-Entertainer-39 posted a link to a European Union Intellectual Property Office trademark filing on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours. This link showed a trademark Bloober Team had registered in September 2024 with the title "Onyx: The Dark Grip." This could be the name of the game Bloober Team is teasing with its Valentine's Day countdown, though it could just as easily be related to one of Bloober Team's other projects.
Back in June 2025, Konami confirmed that Bloober Team is working on a remake of the first Silent Hill game. Based on the image and audio teasers Bloober has released so far, it seems unlikely that this unannounced game will be that remake. Instead, it's much more likely that this game is Bloober Team's 'Project M' or 'Project F', both of which are reportedly slated for a 2026 release.
