The beauty of games like Bloodborne doesn’t just come from the stellar gameplay or grotesquely fascinating detail; it can also come from the RPG elements that make each playthrough unique. FromSoftware's Bloodborne enables players to place their currency of “Blood Echoes” into their character, exchanging this fee for levels to enhance their character.
Bloodborne: Best Origin Class For Beginners To Souls-Likes
Players new to Bloodborne may want to consider these Origin Classes before diving into the game headfirst.
Some players have a talent when it comes to making the best builds in Bloodborne. Even with the game’s somewhat limited selection of builds, players have managed to create some incredibly useful builds that both new and experienced players can try on their next trip to Yharnam.
Updated on August 15, 2024, by Ritwik Mitra: Bloodborne is one of the greatest PS4 exclusives that players can't wait to see remastered or remade in some capacity. The fact that many people consider this title to be Miyazaki's masterpiece despite the runaway success of Elden Ring shows just how much fans love Bloodborne and its rich Gothic inspirations. The tight lore, fast-paced combat, and amazing environmental design make it clear why the quality of Bloodborne is a cut above the rest in the eyes of many, with players being rewarded for being aggressive in battle. The difficulty of this game may be hard to get over, but those who make it a point to try out the best Bloodborne builds will find their efforts rewarded quite a bit.
9 99 Arcane
Level Up The Only Stat With No Hardcap To Speak Of
- Warning: Such a playstyle is only viable in NG+
For new players, Arcane may be a stat that scares them. Arcane is best reserved for those with experience in Bloodborne and for players who are truly looking for something unique and unholy. There are perhaps no better way to truly break Bloodborne than to invest in the maximum stats of Arcane, which is 99. 99 pure points into Arcane will allow players to pulverize and smash PvE enemies and PvP invading hunters.
If done right, a 99 Arcane build can destroy bosses with ease. All players will need to do is focus on the Arcane stat, which will build the damage buff that the Hunter’s Tools deal. This “Pure Arcane” build is completely overpowered and provides the player with a wide variety of Hunter Tools in Bloodborne to experiment with and become the most powerful and feared hunter across all of Yharnam.
8 Beast Claw + The Beast's Embrace Rune
Turns The Hunter Into A Savage Half-Beast
- Warning: The permanent Beasthood meter is a boon and a curse
The Beast Claw is one of the best weapons added in The Old Hunters DLC, one of the best expansions FromSoftware has ever made. Almost every weapon added via this additional content is pure quality and lets players experiment with unique and powerful movesets. Two of these weapons synergize with certain Caryll Runes to unlock transformations, which is why the Beast Claw is so appealing to the masses. It lets players mess around with one of the best Bloodborne builds.
This weapon may not boast the highest reach, but it more than makes up for it with the enhanced moveset unlocked via the Beast's Embrace rune. Dodges are more effective, a player's ability to sync combos with this weapon is better, and the permanent Beasthood meter lets players unleash a ton of damage in no time, even if they must make it a point to avoid unnecessary damage, since that damage is also multiplied as the Beasthood meter continues to rise.
7 Bloodtinge Chikage
One Of The Coolest Playstyles In The Game
- Warning: The Chikage harms the wielder when imbued with blood
Bloodtinge is yet another statistic that some players may fear, as it does not rely on the same passive ease of Strength or Skill. Bloodtinge is a great stat that can be paired with the powerful weapon of the Chikage to deal a devastating amount of damage to enemies and cause a burst of blood damage to wreck almost anything in the way of the Chikage blade. However, for the Bloodtinge Chikage build to be effective, one must be aware of a few things.
Bloodborne: Top 20 Best PvE Weapons, Ranked
Players can't go wrong with these excellent PvE weapons in Bloodborne.
Firstly, to obtain the Chikage, one must have Cainhurst Castle available. To get to Cainhurst Castle in Bloodborne, one must reach the Forbidden Woods and access the back of Iosefka’s Clinic to obtain the key item of the Cainhurst Summons. Returning to Hemwick Charnel Lane at the tall stone obelisk, players will ride a carriage to Cainhurst, where they will need to fight the boss Martyr Logarius, and then join the Cainhurst Vilebloods. After, the Chikage will be available from the Messengers for 50,000 Blood Echoes. However, the journey does not end there, as players will need to commit to an agonizing grind for blood gems from specific dungeons to maximize the outrageous damage of a Chikage build.
6 Quality Beast Blood Pellets
Turn Into A Glass Tank That Hits For Serious Damage
- Warning: Beast Blood Pellets also increase the damage incurred by the player
A quality build in Bloodborne is a build that mixes and balances stats for a decent variety of violence against the beasts of Yharnam. Most quality builds usually look like an even mix of points placed into Strength and Skill so that the player can best utilize the hunter weapons, like the Saw Cleaver, for its ease of access and the fact that it can be one of the highest DPS weapons in the game.
When combining the Saw Cleaver with the Beast Blood Pellets, the player's damage output will receive a significant increase at the cost of them also receiving more damage from attacks. However, the DPS that players will put out will usually stunlock most enemies, leaving them powerless to attack.
5 Kos Parasite + Milkweed Rune
Become A Powerful Celestial Kin
- Warning: Is only viable after beating the game's hardest boss
The Kin are the celestial beings in Bloodborne that draw heavily from its Lovecraftian inspirations. These enemies can be quite tricky to deal with, especially since they're not vulnerable to serrated or fire magic like most other enemies in the game. So, it's easy to see why players would jump at the chance to try out one of the best Bloodborne builds that transform them into one of the Lumenwood.
The Kos Parasite is the reward players enjoy for defeating the hardest boss in Bloodborne, the Orphan of Kos. This weapon, coupled with the Milkweed Caryll Rune, transforms them into an alien-like being with a unique moveset that can slap enemies with tentacles and use a fun Arcane blast that knocks most enemies off their feet and leaves them vulnerable. In both PvE and PvP, this combination can be deadly for most enemies.
4 Infinite Cannon
Exploit A Glitch In The Game To Shoot The Cannon Without Using Bullets
- Warning: Incorrectly executing this glitch wastes precious Quicksilver Bullets
Some glitches in Bloodborne have become accidental features, such as the Infinite Cannon build. This glitch or “feature” allows the player to rapidly fire their left-handed weapon without the use of bullets.
FromSoftware: Hardest Beast Soulsborne Bosses, Ranked
FromSoftware's Soulsborne games are known for their difficult boss fights. The following eight animalistic beasts are among their toughest.
The cannon is perhaps the best firearm in Bloodborne and has an extremely slow firing rate. Yet, if players can pull off the Bloodborne cannon glitch, they will make quick work of bosses. Sure, it’s not exactly a professional or legitimate way of dealing with the beast scourge, but why not have a little fun with something reasonably hard to pull off?
3 Skill Build With A Saw Spear
The Easiest Way To Destroy The Majority Of The Game's Enemies
- Warning: The moveset, while effective, is pretty boring compared to the game's other imaginative weapons
Sometimes, it's the most accessible builds that end up being so useful. Such is the case with a Skill build where players invest a lot of points in Dexterity and just enough in Strength to bring out the full potential of one of the most iconic weapons in Bloodborne, the Saw Spear. The serrated damage of this weapon, coupled with its relatively swift attacks, makes it an amazing armament to decimate most of the beasts in this game without many issues.
The only thing one can say against one of the best Bloodborne builds is that it may be a bit too boring after a point, since there are only so many times players can spam R1 before they feel like they're missing out on a lot of what this game has to offer. However, this is a minor complaint in the grand scheme of things, and those who want to be as efficient with their attacks as possible can use a simple Saw Spear to destroy almost everything in the game.
2 Executioner’s Gloves
Summon Three Homing Skills To Deal Damage
- Warning: Needs a lot of points dumped into Arcane before this Hunter Tool can decimate foes
Focusing on Arcane is a good start for many of the Hunter Tools in Bloodborne. Yet, there is one tool that is above the rest. The Executioner’s Gloves can be found in the library of Cainhurst Castle, a location that is secret to some but well worth the entry requirement. The Executioner’s Gloves are integral to this build and how OP it can be.
There are many examples of the Exectioner’s Gloves giving the hardest bosses in Bloodborne a true spanking. Considering the weapon uses bullets and tracks the target, enemies like Amygdala will be made short and quick work of. Players don’t need to wait for an attack window; all they need to do is let this devastating weapon do its thing, and it will deal thousands of points of damage with ease.
1 Bloodborne Breaker
Get A +10 Weapon Before The Nightfall Moon Cycle
- Warning: Grinding in the Chalice Dungeons can be both challenging and boring
This Bloodborne build is OP but earned. Players can’t just enter the game and invest in the right stats, as it requires dedication and hard work to pull off. However, the result is profound, and players will be able to take care of early-game bosses as if they are nothing. This video by ymfah features a guide on how to get a +10 weapon before fighting Vicar Amelia and shows the results of commitment and sheer will when it comes to overpowered builds in Bloodborne.
Players will venture through chalice dungeons, utilizing the many chalice glyphs to essentially break the game in all the right ways. By the end of it, players will have a +10 weapon, a decent level of blood gems, and more levels than they need at such an early stage in the game.
