Brilliant puzzle game Blue Prince is getting one final major update before Dogubomb and director Tonda Ros move on. Blue Prince launched in April to widespread critical acclaim, becoming one of the highest-rated new game releases of the year. It also debuted as a day one release on both PS Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, giving many more gamers the chance to see what all the fuss is about.

Blue Prince is a roguelike puzzle game where players map out a mansion with the goal of reaching the elusive Room 46. Every time players open a door, they have to choose what room they will go to next, with every decision having big ramifications on how any given run plays out. Blue Prince reviews indicate that the game found a winning formula, and for those wanting to see it expanded further, there is some good and bad news.

The bad news is that there are no plans for Blue Prince DLC, and the game is only getting one more major content update. The good news is that the update in question, 1.10, sounds rather substantial. Blue Prince Update 1.10 will include "an overhyped arcade game" - likely referring to the currently unusable arcade machine in the Commissary - a house cat, new accessibility features, UI improvements, more end-of-day manor descriptions and house illustrations, HUD customization options, new cinematics, including new openings and endings for the game's various challenge modes, and more.

It's unclear exactly when Blue Prince Update 1.10 will drop, but there will be smaller updates between now and then that address bugs and other issues. It was also teased that some of the 1.10 content "may preemptively roll out," like the accessibility features, for example. Blue Prince updates after 1.10 drops will be primarily focused on bug fixes, and so fans shouldn't expect any new major content updates after that point.

As one of the highest-rated new video game releases of the year, Blue Prince is on the short list for many when it comes to the Game of the Year awards, and so it will be interesting to see how it ultimately performs. In the meantime, Blue Prince is available to play through PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass as well as standalone purchase. Even without the content coming in Update 1.10, Blue Prince is fully-featured and will keep players busy for hours on end.
