Abandoned Mine Guide In Blue Prince

As you continue to explore the massive number of rooms in Blue Prince, you have probably stumbled into the underground locations. There are all sorts of puzzles hidden in this location, including the puzzle in the Abandoned Mine.

This circle of candles might seem strange, but it actually has a fairly easy solution. If you want some help with this Blue Prince puzzle, this guide is here to help you complete the Abandoned Mine and find out what happens next.

The Candle Circle Puzzle in Blue Prince

As you walk into the Abandoned Mine room, you will find a circle of candles surrounding a symbol on a pedestal in the center. There is a piece of a map on this pedestal, but that will not help you to solve the immediate puzzle. The symbol is important for the Sigils puzzle in Blue Prince, but again, it doesn't have anything to do with the candles.

In order to interact with the circle of candles in the Abandoned Mine in the underground part of the manor, you need to get yourself an item that can light the candles. There are two different items that can set things on fire: the Burning Glass and the Ignited Torch. The Torch is usually a late-game item since you need to solve the Chess Puzzle in Blue Prince to get it. However, the Burning Glass only requires that you find a Magnifying Glass and a Metal Detector, then use the Workroom to put them together.

Lighting the Candles in Blue Prince

Once you have the Burning Glass in your inventory, you can head back to the Abandoned Mine. You will need to line up the center dot on the screen with the wick; you will see a weird lighter icon show up on the candle when you get it lined up right. Hit the interact button, and the Burning Glass should get the candle burning. Repeat this process with each of the candles around the Abandoned Mine room. Once all of them are lit, a staircase will open up underneath your feet, granting you access to a whole new area to explore.

It will lead you down to the Precipice where you can complete the Chess Puzzle and find several more memos, notes, and even a half-destroyed book. This will unlock a shortcut to get down to the location that the Blue Flame elevator in Blue Prince also grants you access to.
