Missing a clue can give you a nagging feeling in the back of your head that doesn’t go away until you finally draft the same room again, armed with new knowledge, and solve what it is that previously stumped you.

Blue Prince plays to the strength of puzzle games quite well, but its puzzles can be quite frustrating to solve at times. One of the more tricky ones in the game can be found in the Study, a blue room that players will rarely encounter on their journey along the manor. Hints for the Study Safe Code in Blue Prince

The Study is a dead end room that lets the player use gems in place of drafting dice up to eight times to get new rooms. It has great synergy with the Hovel, giving you a way to spend your gems if you have the ability to use steps to unlock special rooms.

The room contains two separate puzzles: one involving the paintings scattered in every room in your estate and the other involving the large safe present on the side of the room. The safe is relatively easy to crack compared to the blackboard puzzle, as everything you need to solve it can be found within the Study.

Hint 1: All the safes in the game require a date in order for them to be opened. You can look at different clues in the room to find the relevant date.
Hint 2: There is a chessboard placed on a table in the Study.
Hint 3: Using chess notation, you can find out the date that will open the safe.

How to Find the Study Safe Code in Blue Prince

On one of the tables in the room, you’ll see a singular black king on the D8 square of a chessboard. Taking the D8 as the hint, the answer for the safe becomes 1-2-0-8 (the eighth of December).

Inside the safe, players will find a Red Letter, the second one, and a Ruby Gem. You will also get a Found Floorplan, the Closed Exhibit, which is a red room with a useful item inside it.
