In Blue Prince, there are more than 100 rooms that each have unique puzzles, hints, and lore inside of them. There are also a selection of places with puzzles that require specific tiles adjacent or nearby, and one of these is Blue Prince's Laboratory.

The Laboratory in Blue Prince has a lot of things going on inside of it, and you might be confused as to what items go with which puzzles. If you are having trouble figuring out the answer to the Lab's number puzzle, this article is here to help you out.

How to Solve the Laboratory Machine Puzzle

Blue-Prince-Laboratory-Machine-Power

The first thing you need to do in order to solve the Laboratory machine puzzle is to route power to the Laboratory itself. Power is generated by tiles labeled Power Source, like the Boiler Room in Blue Prince. Once you have the power up and running, you need to connect the Lab directly to the power source or across tiles that also have power conduits built into the ceiling like the Gymnasium, Security, Passageway, and others. You can tell if the power will run through it if it surrounded by a blue light as in the screenshot below.

After that, you will need to pull the right levers in the correct order, and it will give you a permanent unlock for Blue Prince. In order to solve the lever puzzle, you will need to look closely at all the posters around the room.

The Solution to the Lever Lab Machine Puzzle

There are two different posters on the walls of the Laboratory that you can interact with. One is the Periodic Table of Elements, and another is the Periodic Table but it is mostly empty. There are numbers in the empty one, and each of those corresponds to an element, represented by either one or two letters (for example, B for Boron or He for Helium). Using the order of the numbers on the mostly-empty chart, take the letters for each of those element positions and make a sentence. Number 1 is in the same location as Plutonium (Pu), Number 2 is in the same location as Sulfur (S), and 3 is where Hydrogen (H) is. So the first word of the puzzle is "PUSH."

If you figure out all the numbers and the letter that correspond to them, you will find the answer is "pushthreeupafternine," or Push Three Up After Nine. You need to push the 9th lever on the machine first, then the 3rd.

Once those two have been pushed up in that order, you'll get your reward: the Blackbridge Grotto. This allows you to access one offline terminal per day from any terminal. These are Security, the Laboratory, the Blue Prince Office, and the Bunker. There may be more, but these are all the terminals available at the beginning of the game.
