By the time you have reached Room 46 for the first time in Blue Prince, you may have already unlocked the Blackbridge Grotto, a permanent addition that grants access to Terminals throughout the Mount Holly Estate. In the middle of this area, you will discover a kind of altar where you are prompted to insert a Microchip.

In Blue Prince, Microchips are very rare, and it's difficult to find every Microchip location without referencing several other hidden notes in the game. Follow this guide to learn where to find every Microchip, what you need to do to collect each Microchip, and what Microchips are used for in the first tplace.
What Are Microchips For In Blue Prince?
In Blue Prince, Microchips locations are something you won't even know to look for until you unlock the Blackbridge Grotto, a permanent addition to the east of the Estate. In here, a mechanism that can house up to three Microchips sits in the center of the room opposite a large metal doorway.
If you can find all three Microchip locations and bring them back to this mechanism, the metal door will open up and unlock permanent access to a new area of the Grounds: the Orindian Ruins.
When you place a Microchip in the Blackbridge Grotto mechanism, it will stay there until removed permanently. Likewise, when you unlock the Orindian Ruins, it will remain unlocked permanently.
Microchip Location 1: Blackbridge Grotto
Blackbridge Grotto Already Has One Microchip Installed
When you first enter the Blackbridge Grotto, you will notice the Microchip puzzle right in the center of the room. By default, one of these slots is already filled, meaning you only have to find two additional Microchip locations in Blue Prince.
To unlock Blackbridge Grotto, you must power up the Laboratory with the Boiler Room, then solve the lever puzzle opposite the Laboratory terminal. Check the Periodic Tables in the room to figure out a hint that will reveal the solution to the lever puzzle.
Once completed, this puzzle will unlock the entrance to the Blackbridge Grotto just north of the east gate that leads back to Simon's camp.

Microchip Location 2: Entrance Hall
Break A Vase In The Entrance Hall To Find A Microchip Location
After you discover Blackbridge Grotto, you will be able to find the other two Microchip locations in the House and the grounds of the Estate. The first, and arguably easiest, to get is inside the Entrance Hall itself.
- Acquire a Sledgehammer
- Go back to the Entrance
- Target the bottom of the west-side vase, on the left side as you enter via the front door
- Destroy the Vase to find a Microchip inside
Once you acquire this Microchip, quickly travel back to the Blackbridge Grotto and place it in the mechanism. You can also trade this for other items at the Trading Post, but you will have to re-collect it on a future day to solve the Microchip puzzle in Blue Prince.
Microchip Location 3: The West Path
Dig Next To The West Bridge To Find Another Microchip Location
You can also find a Microchip location in the West Path. This special area requires you to unlock the West Gate to permanently access.
- Draft a Garage and a Utility Room
- Turn power back on to the Garage via the Breaker Box in the Utility Room
- Enter the Garage and open the Garage door with the button on the wall
- Follow the path then turn south, head through the gate, and across the wood plank
- Unlock the West Gate from the other side to permanently access this area (and the Outer Room)
Once unlocked, play until you acquire a Shovel, then return to the West Path. On the northeastern side of the bridge, in the grass just next to the creek crossing, look down to find a hidden dig spot.
Dig here to find the last Microchip location. Blue Prince players should return this to the Blackbridge Grotto to fully power up this unique station, see a special cutscene, and unlock access to the Orindian Ruins – a very intriguing secret outdoor area.
