Step One: Unlock The West Gate To Access The Outer Room
The West Gate can be found, as its name implies, to the west of the Estate, to the right as you exit the Entrance to go outside. To unlock this gate, you must power the Garage Door in the Garage with a Breaker Box. The Garage can only be drafted on the far left of the Estate, also referred to as the Western Perimeter.
Power up the Garage, open the door, then follow the path to the south outside to reach the west side of the West Gate. Interact with the gate lock to gain permanent access to the West Path, which leads to a secret Outer Room.
Step Two: Draft The Shelter
The Shelter is one of a handful of unique Outer Rooms that can be drafted in this location beyond the West Gate. Build the Shelter, walk down the stairs, and you will see the Time Lock Safe on a shelf next to a Terminal. You do not need to log into the Terminal to access the Time-Lock Safe controls.
If you do not get the Shelter, you can restart the day by quitting out of the game. Head back to the Outer Room for another chance to draw the Shelter from the pool of Outer Rooms.
Step Three: Enter A Time One Hour From The Current Time & Date
To open the Time-Lock Safe, Blue Prince players must enter a time at least one hour from the current time and date in the 'Time Lock Safe' menu.
Blue Prince: How To Solve Dartboard Puzzle (Billiards Room)
In the Billiards Room, you will find a Dartboard Puzzle that doesn't involve actually throwing any darts.
To do this, you must figure out the current date and time. This is not something you can find on the main menu or an in-game calendar.
- To find out the date, you must read a note on the Security Terminal that reveals the day the expedition started – November 7 – then add your current Day count. Subtract one from your total to account for November 7 being Day 1, and you will have your current date. November has 30 days, so if you are on more than 28 Days, the month will change to December.
- To find out the current time, you can either look at the clock tower from the outside of the Estate, or reference clocks inside the Estate rooms (like the Den). Read the clock hands to determine the current time – each day begins at 8:00 a.m.
You can only set a time in one-hour increments. So, if the current time is even one minute past the hour, you will have to add an hour and round up to find out the exact time you should set the Time-Lock Safe to open.
Step Four: Wait Until The Set Time To Open The Time-Lock Safe
Finally, either wait in the Shelter until the safe opens, or go explore the house for a bit and return. It will take about five minutes for each hour to progress in-game.
The safe will stay open for four hours, so if you plan to return later on, keep an eye on the time by referencing clocks while you explore the manor. Make sure you have enough time to get back to the Shelter before the safe closes.
What's Inside The Time Lock Safe?
Blue Prince Time Lock Safe Rewards
If you unlock the Time-Lock Safe in the Shelter, Blue Prince rewards you with a Gem and a Red Letter. This Letter is marked VII, and is one of several Red Letters players can find throughout the Estate in their search for Room 46.
The letter imparts some intriguing story details that elaborate on some of the mysteries of the Mt. Holly estate. You cannot collect the letter, but these Red Letters are important for a specific puzzle in the game, so write down where you found it, its associated number, and the information contained within the note.
