The legendary Re-Volter is considered one of the best shields in Borderlands 3. The Hyperion-backed technology grants you an overpowering buff every time your shield breaks. Whenever you are shock-enraged, your fire rate increases by 50 percent and your shock damage by an insane 200 percent.

While useful for any vault hunter with a shock weapon, the Re-Volter is particularly useful for a Zane shock-damage build. If you can find a Re-Volter with an operative anointment, Zane can become shock-enraged every time he activates an action skill. His other skills can increase the duration of his action skill, meaning he gets to run around with over 200 percent shock damage for longer periods. That's enough to wipe out a lot of enemies.

How to Get the Re-Volter in Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 - Re-Volter Stats
The Re-Volter increases your shock damage by 200 percent in Borderlands 3.

The legendary Re-Volter shield is part of Borderlands 3: Director's Cut, an upgrade DLC pack that adds a new questline alongside a massive Varkid raid boss called Hemovorous the Invincible to test the limits of your end-game build.

Once you install the Director's Cut, the Re-Volter has a small chance of dropping from any loot source such as enemies and chests. However, the loot source should be within the new Director's Cut locations. Doing legendary farming runs elsewhere, even with the Director's Cut, will not add the Re-Volter to your loot pool.

Consider buying the Season 2 Pass instead of just the Director's Cut. For a relatively cheaper price, you get the Director's Cut as well as the Designer's Cut alongside eight Multiverse cosmetic packs.

Luckily, the Director's Cut features a dedicated loot source with an increased chance to drop the legendary Re-Volter shield in Borderlands 3. All you need to do is farm Sumo, a mini-boss found at the end of Eschaton Row on Promethea. Just follow the map to the end, and you will find him in the area with the vending machine. Sumo has a 30 percent chance of dropping the Re-Volter in BL3.

Considering that you will be farming Eschaton Row either way, as it is one of the new locations introduced with the Director's Cut, you have a good chance of getting your hands on the Re-Volter. This shield is a much easier grind compared to some of the other legendary items that require a lot of traveling and luck.

Sumo is a bandit, so fire damage works best against him. Bring a Maliwan SMG for its insane fire rates to cut him down to size.
