Deciding where to spend your hard-earned skill points can be a bit overwhelming in Borderlands 3, especially for new players. Every playable character in the game has three unique skill trees (four with the Designer's Cut add-on) that feature dozens of passives and abilities combined. Since you cannot max out all the skill trees, you must carefully choose where to spend your skill points.

However, what if you want to get back your skill points to redistribute them in the same or another skill tree? Borderlands 3 encourages you to experiment to find what character builds work for you. Hence, the game features an easy way to respec and reassign your skill points at any point. Here's how.

Angry and planning to face your demons? Look no further than the legendary Doom-inspired Hellwalker shotgun in Borderlands 3.

How to Respec Your Character in Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 - Respec Option
Quick-Change Stations allow you to respec skill points in Borderlands 3.

The only way to respec your character is to find a Quick-Change Station in Borderlands 3. It allows you to customize your character by choosing new heads, bodies, skins, color palettes, emotes, echo themes, and most importantly, resetting skill points to redistribute them as you please.

You can visit a Quick-Change Station to respec as many times as you want. However, be warned that it is not free. Each respec costs a percentage of your total money in Borderlands 3, which can increase exponentially as you progress in the game. Hence, the richer you are, the more expensive your next respec option becomes.

Respec-ing is fairly cheap during the early levels because you only have a few thousand dollars of in-game currency. Do not shy away from experimenting with new skills. If one skill tree is not working for you, visit your nearest Quick-Change Machine to refund and redistribute your skill points in another tree.

Quick-Change Station Locations

There are only three Quick-Change Stations in the base Borderlands 3 game. The most convenient of them can be found on Sanctuary, right next to the fast-travel station at the back of the ship. The remaining two are located in Covenant Pass and the Droughts on Pandora, the starting areas of your campaign in BL3.

You can also find three more Quick-Change Machines by installing expansion packs. The vending machines are always located in the starting areas of the new zones, acting as a base of operations for your vault hunters.
