The Borderlands 4 community has compiled 54 pieces of legendary gear that have been revealed thus far in pre-release footage and trailers. This is only a miniscule fraction of the weapons and gear that Borderlands 4 players can expect later this year, as the game is expected to have the franchise's largest weapon selection ever.

Borderlands 4 isn't releasing until September 12, but Gearbox have given Borderlands fans multiple opportunities to see what the game has to offer, thanks to new trailers, promotional videos, and pre-release events. PlayStation also teamed up with Gearbox to host a dedicated Borderlands 4 State of Play, and the latest trailer for the looter-shooter gave players another glimpse into the main story, which focuses on Vault Hunters thwarting the Timekeeper's plans on the planet Kairos. Moreover, a recent pre-release gameplay event featuring popular content creators gave fans a look at direct-feed gameplay. With all the new footage now circulating online, Borderlands fans have been able to compile and list some of the legendary weapons from Borderlands 4 thus far.

Borderlands 4 Making Major Change to Skill Trees
Borderlands 4 Adding Helpful Quality of Life Feature

Borderlands 4 is adding a particularly helpful quality-of-life feature to the game, coinciding with the updates to the franchise's skill trees.

Reddit user amitkilo and other avid members of the Borderlands 4 community have compiled images of 54 legendary gear and weapons that have been spotted in pre-release footage so far. A spreadsheet and gallery of Borderlands 4's discovered weapons was also opened, giving fans a better look into what each legendary weapon offers with its bonuses and skills. There appear to be many original weapons that were developed for Borderlands 4, such as the Hellfire SMG and Queen's Rest Pistol, but fans discovered some returning weapons from previous Borderlands entries. Some examples include the Plasma Coil SMG from Borderlands 3 and the fan-favorite T.K's Wave shotgun from the original Borderlands game.

Descriptions of the legendary bonuses for each weapon were also compiled verbatim with the screenshots that the Borderlands 4 community collected. However, it should be noted that the legendary bonuses are subject to change, since pre-release builds of Borderlands 4 may not entirely represent the final release version of the game. In addition, it appears that many weapon descriptions are incomplete, and there appear to be some inconsistencies with the elements attached to some of the legendary weapons in the spreadsheet.

Nonetheless, Borderlands 4 will have a near-endless number of weapons to chase, and there will be even more gear and weapons to come after the game launches on September 12. Gearbox has already confirmed that Borderlands 4 will receive a roadmap of free and paid post-launch content. There will be paid DLC, including two new Vault Hunters, all-new regions of Kairos, new story missions, side missions, challenges, enemies, and much more. A Nintendo Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 is also planned for release later on.
