Borderlands 4 is finally here, and fans across the globe are jumping in to take on the vaults and, of course, pick up thousands of weapons along the way. Performance issues aside, the game has been pretty well-received across the board, but like any modern PC game, the community is always hard at work to try and make things even better.
Borderlands 4 Legendary Loot Drop Table
Players can find the location of every boss and their dedicated Legendary loot drops in Borderlands 4, right here to help you farm for the best gear.
Sometimes it is nice to have some quality of life changes that make the general loop more enjoyable, while other mods completely break how the game is played on a fundamental level. Whatever the case, there are already quite a few handy mods for BL4 that players can download to improve an already incredibly fun shooter.
Full Map Unlock
Everything At The Click Of A Button
One of the toughest parts about BL4 is navigating the map. The areas are huge, and it can be hard to know where certain collectibles or hidden areas are, especially when they haven't even appeared on the map. Well, this handy mod helps with that immensely, removing all the fog and revealing the map, whilst also keeping everything locked so that players can still venture out and experience things for themselves.
What makes the mod so great is the simplicity and lack of overbearing changes it makes. Players can quite easily forget that they ever installed it, but by having it there, it makes exploring the map just a bit more enjoyable, particularly for players who really like to see and do everything there is.
Faster Rides
Getting Around The Huge Map Easier
The digirunner is one of the more fun elements of the game, allowing players to traverse huge areas in no time thanks to the speed and mobility the vehicle provides. However, with such a large map to cover, sometimes the gaps can get quite lengthy, which makes this mod a great addition to any player's playthrough.
Every Siren Still Alive Going Into Borderlands 4
These are the sirens that could make an appearance in Borderlands 4.
It does exactly what it says on the tin, increasing the speed of the hoverbikes by a significant amount, both when boosting and while driving normally, but it also removes the speed cap, allowing players to reach insane speeds when given enough time to accelerate. It is restricted to the original bike, but that tradeoff is well worth the added speed to the player's journeys.
Better Moves
Stylish And Functional
Better Moves turns the player into a mobile killing machine, even more than they already were. Players already have access to some pretty insane movement options thanks to the new dash and slide combos, but this mod takes things further, adding additional speed and distance to every single move.
This makes certain areas a whole lot more enjoyable to traverse, as gaps can suddenly be cleared and enemies have a much harder time hitting the player thanks to the additional speed. It might take some getting used to, but once it has been experienced, players will never want to go back.
Difficulty And Loot Tweaks
Sliders, Toggles, Modifiers, And More
Difficulty And Loot Tweaks is a pretty nice mod that allows players to play with quite a few different stats to change how the game is played in a big way. Anything from damage dealt to cash gained, to loot quality can be adjusted through several difficulty settings, giving players the chance to play around and find a balance that suits them best.
It isn't just limited to making things easier either, as the mod has a few settings that actually make the game harder by increasing the damage the player takes, whilst upping the loot luck to compensate. Overall, it is a nice settings mod that can make subsequent playthroughs more enjoyable than just the UVH mechanic.
Gear n Gun Editor
Crafting The Perfect Arsenal
Gear n Gun Editor is a simple yet powerful mod that takes the concept of a game that has over a billion guns and allows players to effectively circumvent the RNG steps and craft the perfect gun. Players can change the stats, rarity, and every other aspect of the weapon, all by using a single external client.
While it might be true that it removes some of the fun factor that comes from randomly getting a super good gun, it does allow players to access specific combinations that they may never find in the wild, letting them become true unstoppable forces with nothing to stand in their way.
MinimalHUD
Cleaning Up The Gameplay Experience
There are quite a few HUD mods out there that alter how the game appears from a visual perspective, but a lot of them focus on performance rather than tweaking actual mechanics. This mod goes further and gives players the tools to scale their HUD however they choose, keeping the emphasis on shooting as was intended.
Borderlands 4 Review: New Vault Hunters and Skill Trees Are Some of the Best Yet
Gearbox Software takes a 'back to basics' approach with Borderlands 4 that ends up being exactly what the series needed.
There are scaling options to reduce the size of things in general, and a few other nice settings that hide certain popups like XP, to make the game feel more immersive and to give players an overall more enjoyable experience that doesn't feel cluttered with extra noise.
Builds
Jumping Straight Into The Deep End
Some of the best mods available for BL4 are actually the simplest, and there are a few options out there for players who just want to be able to try out a super-powerful build that another player has stumbled upon.
Players have access to late-game builds that tear through anything, or even some earlier ones that can help them clear out the campaign without any struggles, which can make the hunt for the perfect weapon feel a lot less tedious when that weapon is already in the player's possession.
