How to Get SDU Tokens in Borderlands 4

SDU Deck Upgrades are essential in Borderlands 4 to ensure that you never run out of ammo or space. By acquiring SDU Tokens, players can upgrade the total ammo of their favorite weapon types, increase the space in their bank, backpack, and lost loot machine, and genuinely have an easier time looting and killing. With Borderlands 4 going open-world, there are so many ways that players can get SDU Tokens to upgrade their equipment, and below, we've listed every way to get these SDU Tokens, how many Tokens each activity does, the number of these activities that are available, and what the activity entails.

Capture Safehouses

14 Safehouses, Each Providing 40 SDU Tokens

There are 14 Safehouses throughout Kairos, and each zone has a few that can be claimed. The process is the same for each one, in which players must find a Datapad and then locate the command console to capture the Safehouse for their own. Once claimed, the Safehouse will reward players with 40 SDU Tokens.

Capture Order Silos

9 Order Silos, Each Providing 40 SDU Tokens

There are 9 Order Silos, and each zone has 3 of them. Upon claiming the Order Silo, players are rewarded with 40 SDU Tokens. These Silos act as fast travel points, and they can be grappled to better locate Vault Key Fragments.

Hack the Top of Ancient Crawlers

10 Ancient Crawlers, Each Providing 40 SDU Tokens

There are 10 Ancient Crawlers, which are giant vehicles that have since been abandoned and used as outposts by Rippers and the Order. Each Crawler grants 40 SDU Tokens, and the activity itself requires players to climb to the top.

Defeat Bosses at Abandoned Auger Mine

7 Auger Mines, Each Providing 40 SDU Tokens

There are 7 Abandoned Auger Mines that are found within Kairos. Within each mine, players will have to fight an assortment of wildlife, where a powerful boss awaits them at the end. Players can complete the Abandoned Auger Mine by running through and killing the boss within, which rewards 40 SDU Tokens.

Defeat Bosses at Order Bunkers

6 Order Bunkers, Each Providing 40 SDU Tokens

There are 6 Order Bunkers in varying locations around the world, and the reward is 40 SDU Tokens. Order Bunkers can be opened by throwing a Locust Canister at the shielded door, and upon doing so, players can enter inside to fight Order guards and a final boss. Upon defeating the final boss, players will complete the Bunker and earn their prize.

Defeat Bosses at Ripper Drill Sites

6 Drill Sites, Each Providing 40 SDU Tokens

There are 6 Drill Sites that reward players with 40 SDU Tokens upon completion. Drill Sites are unique locations scattered around the map that will see players forced into a fight with a bunch of Rippers. Upon surviving the onslaught, a powerful boss will emerge, and upon its defeat, the activity will conclude.

Hack Into Propaganda Speakers

27 Propaganda Speakers, Each Providing 20 SDU Tokens

There are 27 Propaganda Speakers found across all 4 regions of Kairos, and they can be detected by listening for the Timekeeper's voice that's being projected to the region. Approach the Propaganda Speaker and activate ECHO-4, who will begin to hack it. Every 25% of the hack, a new wave of enemies will spawn, but upon killing all 4 waves, players are given 20 SDU Tokens.

Deliver Lost Capsules to Safehouses

20 Lost Capsules, Each Providing 15 SDU Tokens

There are 20 Lost Capsules to collect across the world, and each of them grants 15 SDU Tokens and loot drops. Loot Capsules are found in varying locations and must be carried all the way back to a Safehouse that contains a Capsule Capturer, meaning players have to walk back without activating their vehicle.

Collect Orbs to Release the Evocarium

18 Evocariums, Each Providing 15 SDU Tokens

There are 18 Evocariums, and each of them rewards 15 SDU Tokens. Players can find Evocarium scattered across the world, and each of them has a station that players must activate to reveal a scan. With the scan active, players can follow each line to find a golden orb, which is then activated and placed on the central pillar to reveal an audio log and SDU Tokens.

Force Open Survivalist Caches

10 Survivalist Caches, Each Providing 10 SDU Tokens

There are 10 Survivalist Caches throughout Kairos, and opening each of them grants 10 SDU Tokens. Not only will players be able to open it with a simple interact button to get SDU Tokens, but they will also get an abundance of level-related loot that might help them in the long run.

Meditate at Auger Shrines

10 Auger Shrines, Each Providing 10 SDU Tokens

There are 10 Auger Shrines found around Terminus Range, and interacting with them provides 10 SDU Tokens. All players need to do is interact, which will see their character meditate, then the shrine will open to reveal a spirit that must be punched. Doing so reveals loot and the SDU Tokens.

Crack Open Electi Safes

10 Electi Safes, Each Providing 10 SDU Tokens

There are 13 Electi Safes, with each of them providing 10 SDU Tokens. The majority of them can be found around Caccadia Burn. These safes can be cracked simply by interacting with them, which will see the Vault Hunter kick them to reveal the SDU Tokens and the loot within.

Investigate Vault Symbols

46 Vault Symbols, Each Providing 5 SDU Tokens

Across the entire region of Kairos and in some mission-specific areas, players can find a total of 46 Vault Symbols, with each of them providing 5 SDU Tokens. These symbols burn a bright orange, and once interacted with, they will leave behind a scorch mark.
