Borderlands 4 has an incredibly varied selection of dangerous bosses, spanning across multiple side missions and activities. However, the main bosses featured across the story of the game also have a decent selection of loot to offer players who want to farm them. For this guide, we've compiled the main threats of Kairos, like the Timekeeper and his most elite commanders, so that you can see what weapons and gear you can earn by killing them over and over again.

Spoilers ahead for the main bosses of Borderlands 4, so it's advised to come back here after the story when you're ready to farm for the gear presented below.

Technomaster

Vex Class Mod

It's no surprise that Idolator Sol has so much Legendary loot to give, considering his greed that ultimately consumes him. Idolator Sol is the first major main boss players will fight, and he's a decent farm, and a fairly easy fight. Idolator Sol is located at the end of Fortress Indomita in the south east region of The Fadefields, and all he has is 3 Flesh bars, so Incendiary damage will wipe him out. However, to damage Idolator Sol, players will need to wait for him to fire Locust cannisters, where players can then pick up a green one and throw it at him to destroy his armor and make him vulnerable. Shoot the green bulbs on his body for extra damage, and behold the glorious loot that drops from his rotting corpse.

Instigator

Rafa Class Mod

Whenever Peacebreaker Cannons fire at an enemy, gain a Stack of Instigator and lose all Stacks when Peacebreaker Cannons fire at a new enemy. Rafa gains Gun Damage for every Stack of Instigator.

Generator

Harlowe Class Mod

Whenever Harlowe activates her Flux Generator, she decreases her remaining Action Skill Duration and gains Action Skill Power.

For those brave enough to face Vile Lictor, they can find him in the Umbral Factory, deep into the Windspear region of Terminus Range. Vile Lictor is a decent boss to farm, as he will drop a Legendary Class Mod for each of the characters. Of all the bosses, Vile Lictor certainly has the largest loot pool, and he's not too hard of a boss to defeat. Vile Lictor has an Armor bar to start with, so when he unveils himself from his machine, unload with Corrosive and Cryo. With his Armor depleted, he will teleport to the Phase, where his Shield bar can be defeated with Shock. Both phases of Vile Lictor see him use his many hands to fire deadly beams, so shoot them back.

Callis, the Ripper Queen

What Legendary Loot Does Callis the Ripper Queen Drop?

  • Mission Required: Her Flaming Vision
  • Boss Location: Moon-Called Throne, Carcadia Burn

Legendary

Type

Description

Queen's Rest

Pistol

Royal Armoury – Fires high-speed rounds. Damaging enemies has a chance to spawn a Homing Sticky Projectile.

Illusionist

Viking

Amon Class Mod

Esgrimidor

Rafa Class Mod

Skeptic

Harlowe Class Mod

Pandoran Memento

Shield

Psychosis – When Damaged, grants Elemental Resistance and Resistance to the last Damage Type received.

Callis is located in the Moon-Called Throne, which is the Fallen Crown area of Carcadia Burn that can only be accessed after completing Her Flaming Vision. Callis has a chance to drop a Legendary Pistol known as Queen's Rest, as well as Legendary Class Mods for each of the 4 Vault Hunters. When it comes to fighting Callis, players will want to bring Corrosive/Cryo weapons for her Shield, and then an Incendiary weapon for her Flesh. Callis uses her metallic arms to try and stomp you and cause flaming ruptures, but she's easy to take down before she can retreat for her ranged spider web attacks.

Moon-Maddened Callis

What Legendary Loot Does Moon-Maddened Callis Drop?

  • Mission Required: Another Day, Another Universe
  • Boss Location: Elpis Orbital Shatterfield, Carcadia Burn

Legendary

Type

Description

Gamma Void

Heavy Weapon Ordnance

Radiant Exposure - Creates a Singularity for 10s, in which enemies take 40% Radiation Damage over time.

Moon-Maddened Callis can be found at the very end of Elpis Orbital Shatterfield, which is a fast travel station players can unlock in the upper left region of Carcadia Burn after the main mission: Another Day, Another Universe. This boss fight works almost identically to the first Callis, with a double Armor bar, and then a double Flesh bar, so Corrosive/Cryo, then a switch to Incendiary, is great for Callis' weaknesses. Callis works like a skittish scorpion, avoiding close-range and striking with her stinging tail, while also engulfing the battlefield in a red web that hurts to touch. As for Legendary items, we had a hard time getting Callis to drop anything, so she might not have a dedicated loot pool, and merely drop random Legendaries with a low chance.

The Timekeeper

What Legendary Loot Does The Timekeeper Drop?

  • Mission Required: The Timekeeper's Order
  • Boss Location: Upper Dominion, Dominion City

Symmetry

Bilateral – Fires from reserve Ammo while charging.

Star Helix

Constellation – Projectiles can be fired vertically or horizontally.

Borstel Ballista

Propagation

The Timekeeper can be found in the Tower's Control Room, which is the furthest area from Upper Dominion in the Terminus District of Dominion. Once players are here, they can take the elevator up and beat the final boss, who's actually 2 bosses. Players must first fight the Timekeeper, who uses teleportation, blinding, and beams of energy to try and kill you. In this phase, the Timekeeper has Shield (Shock), Armor (Corrosive/Cryo), and Flesh (Incendiary). Once defeated, he will spawn into his second phase, the Primordial Guardian Timekeeper, who has the same trio of health bars, except he will stomp around the arena in an attempt to kill the pesky Vault Hunter that's farming his loot.

Arjay

What Legendary Loot Does Arjay Drop?

  • Mission Required: The Timekeeper's Order
  • Boss Location: Upper Dominion, Dominion City

Legendary

Type

Description

None

n/a

n/a

The first fast travel spawn into Upper Dominion will allow players to farm Arjay, who can be found in the Phase rift that's entered via the grapple hook. Arjay can be pretty tough, as he fires out his own Rippers and Vile enemies, along with damaging twisters. The boss's health is as follows: Shield (Shock), Armor (Corrosive/Cryo), and Flesh (Incendiary). However, Arjay doesn't seem to have any Legendary loot, making him a pointless enemy to farm. It's unknown if this is intentional or not, since while players can farm Arjay, he has no loot to give.
