The Lost Loot machine in Borderlands 4 might come in handy for players who have a full backpack, or for those who may have missed the billions of guns that can drop from enemies and bosses. For players who want to know where they can recover lost loot in Borderlands 4, or want to know how the machine actually works, then they can find everything they need to know below!

All Lost Loot Locations in Borderlands 4

There are 6 places where players can find their lost loot, and the majority of them are from the Faction Towns that players will unlock throughout the main story. The first and most important Lost Loot station is at The Launchpad, which unlocks with the Outbounders after the Down and Outbound main quest (3rd mission). Here are the other spots where players can find a Lost Loot machine:

  • The Launchpad (The Howl, Fadefields)
  • Belton's Bore (The Low Leys, Terminus Range)
  • Carcadia (Ruined Sumplands, Carcadia Burn)
  • The Lockaway (Carcadia District, Dominion City)
  • The Food Court (Terminus District, Dominion City)
  • Sumpview Falls (Fades District, Dominion City)

What Does the Lost Loot Machine Do in Borderlands 4?

Can You Filter Rarities in the Lost Loot Machine?

lost loot station

The Lost Loot machine will automatically collect loot that you've found in chests or ones dropped on the floor by either yourself or from enemies, thinking you've accidentally left it behind. Players will have to manually visit the Lost Loot machine to clear it out, as once it's full, it will no longer take any loot. This means that players can miss out on Legendary gear that might have fallen off a cliff if the Lost Loot machine were full at the time. As such, it's best to venture to areas with a Lost Loot machine to empty it out before doing some high-tier farming or adventuring, as it's always nice to just sell what's useless in the Lost Loot machine or select it all as junk to trash it.

Unfortunately, you cannot filter different rarities of loot in the Lost Loot machine. This means that you can't set up the Lost Loot machine in a way that means it will only pick up Legendary items, or specifically Shields. However, the Lost Loot machine can be upgraded to a maximum of 14 slots with SDU Tokens. Sadly, the Lost Loot machine will pick up whatever takes a slot first, meaning you could have a Common item take a spot whereas you'd want it to be reserved for a Legendary, but it doesn't work like that.
