Within Borderlands 4's Terminus District of Dominion, players can find advertisements for the No Escape Room, a thrilling activity that will see those who fail die here. With the Smiley Man greeting players to their salvation or certain doom, it's time to figure out a way out from the No Escape Room without using Fast Travel to complete the quest and prove that this Vault Hunter has what it takes. Below is the solution for each of the escape rooms present in the No-Escape Room side mission for Borderlands 4.
How to Open the Chests in the Correct Order in the No-Escape Room
The correct door to open is the yellow door, noted for being the furthest right door, and the one that lacks any corpses or blood beside it. Opening the yellow door will allow players to proceed to the next room, where they can look up to use a grapple hook point to enter the 2nd room.
How to Find the Correct Key Order in the No-Escape Room
The 2nd room of the No Escape Room has players search for a key in a box, to open yet another box with a key, and so on. There are 5 boxes, each noted for a unique symbol, and players must open each box in a very specific order. Players can, in fact, find the hints required by looking around the room for cardboard signs that show the correct order, but we've shown the solution in the image above, and will detail the solution below:
- Open the 2nd chest, noted for the trinity circles
- Open the 5th chest, noted for the bird drawing
- Open the 4th chest, noted for the cow drawing
- Open the 1st chest, noted for being a triangle
- Open the 3rd chest, noted for being an eyeball
How to Escape the Maze in the No-Escape Room
Once players drop down into the maze, they will want to follow the carrots that are found on the floor to find the exit. These carrots lead players to the exit of the maze, but be warned, some of the path is blocked by fire, so simply walk through and prepare to use a Repkit to heal. The video above showcases the route we took for the maze, but here are some directions players will want to take from the start:
After exiting the maze, Smiley Man will place the Vault Hunters in a kill box. To escape, look to the right and use the grapple hook to open a vent, where you can shoot the powered device to deactivate the force field and gas. Smiley Man will then open a door and walk through, but do not follow him, as this room is an incinerator that will kill you. Instead, look to the left of this door to find the escape door.
