Wrenching Allen is an extravagant "artist" who can be found in Belton's Bore of Terminus Range once players make their acquaintance with the Augers. Allen does not concern himself with the Order or the Timekeeper, but instead, with art. Borderlands 4 players are tasked with helping Allen assemble a chair, and there's even a decision to be made at the end of the quest with different outcomes. Read on if you want to find the location for every chair part in The Importance of Being Furnished, and know what decision you should make when it comes to Allen's masterpiece.
Where to Find the Assembly Instructions
Wrenching Allen tasks players with finding the assembly instructions required to build a chair. Allen will direct players to three distinct locations, where they will then have to search for a specific item. Here are all the spots, what to search, in order:
- Search trash - Head to the floor above the vending machines and search the trash can on the railing opposite the weapon vending machine.
- Search laundry - Head to the upper left rooms of the Auger HQ and open the third laundry machine from the left.
- Search grill - Head outside of Belton's Bore and open the grill on the left, closest to the rock wall.
How to Spawn and Kill the Art Critics to Kill
Once players have searched the girl, they will be interrupted by Rhokia, a Ripper who also happens to be a critic of Allen's work. Rhokia should drop down from his cave above the grill to fight the Vault Hunters, but he should actually be joined by more allies. If Rhokia spawns, and no other enemies, then simply quit to the main menu and return to the area, and repeat this until you've killed around 4 to 5 Ripper enemies, Rhokia included.
How to Find All Chair Pieces
For this step, players are required to find and assemble all 5 chair pieces. The video above will showcase the quickest route to get them all, but we've also attached images and descriptions below so that you can get them at your own pace:
- Found on the right wall of the main gate to Belton's Bore
- Found to the right through the walkway entrance to Belton's Bore
- Found to the left of the Belton's Bore Fast Travel Station in the west area
- Found on the bottom floor of Belton's Bore in a shack within the north east area
- Found on the top floor of the north east area, up the stairs past where you searched the trash for the assembly instructions.
Should You Sell the Chair or Destroy the Chair?
Once players have assembled the... Chair, it's time to make a decision. Wrenching Allen loves the monstrosity you have just constructed, so he offers you a choice: sell the chair to him, or destroy it, so that nobody can marvel at its beauty. These are the choices that players can make and the outcomes that follow:
- Sell chair - Wrenching Allen judges you for making a "capitalist" decision, but rewards extra Cash, before saying that the decision was actually an artistic one.
- Kill chair - Wrenching Allen will simply admire the destruction of the chair and say "Oh, brilliant!" in awe.
There is also a secret third option that players can choose in which they kill Wrenching Allen. The rewards are the same regardless of which of the three choices players make, and Wrenching Allen's death is met with the same voiceline as if they destroyed the chair.
