Venturing to Embracer's Bluff in Carcadia Burn will see players reunite with a familiar and still murderous AI, GenIVIV. This returning character brings a bundle of mayhem for the Potty Mouth side mission in Borderlands 4, but what's even more troublesome is the final choice that players have to make. After taking GenIVIV's core to Moxxi, a decision must be made: install GenIVIV into the sound system, or give GenIVIV to Moxxi to erase her forever. With a choice to make, players might want to know what they should do before completing the quest for good.

Should You Install GenIVIV or Erase Her Forever?

Potty Mouth's final choice comes down to either placing GenIVIV's core into the sound system of Moxxi's Bottoms Up bar or entrusting the core to Moxxi for it to be destroyed forever. The outcome truthfully doesn't matter, as players still get the same rewards regardless, and there seems to be no consequence or lasting impact to the decision that you make. Regardless, here are the outcomes:

  • Install GenIVIV into the sound system — GenIVIV lives, but as part of the bar's jukebox. She has no dialogue and cannot be interacted with.
  • Give GenIVIV to erase her forever (probably) — Moxxi takes GenIVIV and places the core in her pocket, never to be seen again, implying that she was either destroyed later or kept for a rainy day.

Neither fate is good for GenIVIV, but considering this murderous AI didn't want to change its ways, it's probably for the best that they're decommissioned without a murder-bot body. For this quest, we decided to install GenIVIV into the sound system, as not only is it funny to keep Claptrap's 10-minute ex-girlfriend alive, but it could also pave the way for future stories with GenIVIV. After all, if she survived being in the toilet of Sanctuary 3 for all these years, then she can certainly survive listening to jazz.
