Borderlands 4 players can now enjoy the latest update that's just been rolled out by Gearbox, which largely deals with issues having to do with the Gilded Glory cosmetic pack. Looter shooter fans have been praising the recent release of Borderlands 4, which seems to have revitalized a franchise that's lost its momentum in the wake of the disappointing Borderlands 3, the widely panned 2024 Borderlands feature film, and the seemingly constant controversy that surrounds Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford. Borderlands 4's new planet Kairos, stronger comedy writing, and snappy FPS gameplay have all been a hit so far for fans of the series.

Like with any AAA game release, gamers who preordered Borderlands 4 were treated to the Gilded Glory Pack, a bundle of cosmetic items claimable in-game. The pack contained shiny white and gold skins for all four of Borderlands 4's Vault Hunters, a classic Borderlands psycho mask that can be worn by each Hunter, a skin for players' Echo-4 companion drone, four legendary weapons, and a weapon skin that matches the aforementioned character skins. However, there seem to have been some issues reported with the preorder pack, which have promptly been addressed by Geabox in its latest update.

Gearbox's new Borderlands 4 update is small, but still important. Firstly, the update takes aim at the game's performance on PC, providing stability and fixing crashing issues that have been tied to GPU as well as some that have been triggered by specific animations. As for the Gilded Glory preorder pack, an issue that caused some of the exclusive items in the pack to pop out of loot chests in Borderlands 4's sprawling world has been patched up, as has a bug that made the in-game "Reward Center" unusable after claiming the Gilded Glory Pack.

While it's good that this update has smoothed over some of Borderlands 4's performance issues, there are some more pressing bugs that have yet to be addressed. In particular, a bug that is causing some Borderlands 4 players to lose all their skill points, clearing out their skill trees and essentially placing them back at level one, is still going unfixed, especially for co-op players, which this bug seems to be affecting the most. Additionally, a memory leak issue is giving some Borderlands 4 players headaches, as it's causing the game's frame rate to steadily decrease throughout longer gaming sessions, prompting players to have to quit and relaunch the game every so often as a temporary workaround.

Aside from the game's day one patch, Borderlands 4 has yet to have a large, sweeping update that fixes a lot of the game's more important bugs. It's only been a week since the game has released, so hopefully Gearbox has a larger update planned sometime in the coming days or weeks that takes care of the skill point and memory leak bugs, which are still causing displeasure among Borderlands 4 players.
