The latest community challenge in Borderlands 4 has been smashed, so Gearbox is releasing a new cosmetic outfit to unlock, this time for Vex. The latest code follows the near constant trend of free content being handed out to Borderlands 4 players, between new Vault Hunter skins and Golden Keys.
While Golden Keys and updates have been the primary form of DLC for Borderlands 4, Gearbox is set to start offering more substantial content starting later this month with the Horrors of Kairos event. In November, Gearbox is launching the first Bounty Pack for Borderlands 4 called How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, a story-centric update with new gear, cosmetics, and a short campaign. In the meantime, Gearbox is offering players another free skin to redeem.

Over the past few weekends, Gearbox has set up new Community Challenges for Borderlands 4 players, typically tasking them with accomplishing something in the game a lot of times. This week was called Death 4 All, where Vex players would have to take out 1.8 million Drill Sites across Kairos. Unsurprisingly, the community rose up to the challenge and managed to complete an astonishing 2,333,013 drill sites while playing as Vex, easily earning a new reward.
Following the pattern established in previous weeks, players can unlock a new cosmetic skin using the above SHiFT code. This weekend's challenge focused on Vex, so the unlocked skin "Mass Market Appeal" is based on her Borderlands 4's origin short called Purple Friday. The skin retains her traditional vault hunter outfit instead of the work clothes in the trailer, but it does feature the primary yellow and purple colors.
In other Vex news, Gearbox has been warning Borderlands 4 players about the next big update, which seems to take aim at one very popular build. While the first major update provided a ton of buffs to underperforming builds and skills, this one is finally making adjustments to Vex's Infinite Bleed build, which has one of the "unintended interactions" that Gearbox is aiming to fix. Either way, October 16 aims to be a pretty big day for all Borderlands 4 with the arrival of a new update.
