Gearbox releases a smaller update for Borderlands 4, once again providing a number of buffs and enhancements to the popular looter shooter. More changes appear on the horizon as well, with Gearbox Software confirming that the next big balance update for Borderlands 4 is coming on October 16.
Balance adjustments, buffs, and nerfs are commonplace for games like Borderlands 4. Sometimes, though, unintentional changes can happen, such as an accidental nerf made to Vex's Infinite Bleed build. Acknowledged as an accident by Gearbox, the studio has finally released a solution in today's update, fixing the issue where the bleed effect was no longer considered to be a status effect. It should help players continue to melt their enemies. However, that wasn't the only big change from the most recent Borderlands 4 update.
Borderlands 4’s First DLC Already Has the Perfect Setting
Clues buried in Borderlands 4’s map may have already revealed the setting where its Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned DLC could take place.
While nowhere near as big as the first Borderlands 4 balance update, this latest hot fix does make a number of gear adjustments players should be aware of. Thankfully, all of the adjustments are buffs for Legendary weapons like Ruby's Grasp. Bully, Rangefinder, Seventh Sense, Hellwalker, and Convergence have all been targeted in this update, many of which gained big damage buffs. However, the Queen's Rest legendary pistol now fires much faster, while the spawn chance for its unique perk was boosted to 50%.
This patch also highlights the various rotating weekly activities, including Maurice's Black Market Vending Machine, a location that changes each week and offers players legendary gear. However, the patch ends with a few additional changes, such as all Pet-based skills, like Forgeweapons, Trouble, Specters, and Reapers, now properly gaining Critical Hit Chance from passives and gear. As mentioned above, Vex's Bleed now counts as Status Effect Damage, and the Anarchy legendary shotgun awards stacks of Mutualism when killing enemies or auto-reloading.
While this particular update may be on the smaller side, Gearbox Software has been teasing the next major Borderlands 4 balance patch. Specifically, Gearbox has been very vocal that this upcoming patch will be addressing what it deems as unintended interactions, strongly hinting at the very popular Crit Knife build that pairs a little too well with Vex's Bloodletter bleed skill. Graeme Timmins even went as far as giving players a 7-day notice about the upcoming changes.
