Crucible is the main Forgeskill found in the Cybernetics (green) skill tree for Amon in Borderlands 4. Players who want to invest in Cybernetics should focus on elemental damage, overwhelming the enemy with Forgedrones, and using Detonations to enhance their damage output and shield regeneration. The Crucible Amon build below is not a melee build, and should be used primarily as ad control, and as an opportunity to suppress and deal more damage against single targets. We've optimized the Amon Crucible build below so that you will have the survivability with your shields, with constant regeneration of your Action Skill and Forgeskill, along with an abundance of useful Forgedrones so that you'll never fight alone, even if you're in a solo match.

|
Skill |
Effect |
Points Invested |
Why It's Useful |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Cast Iron |
Amon gains increased Forgeskill Cooldown Rate and Gun Handling |
5/5 |
Being more capable with guns is always nice, but being able to use the Forgeskill +25% more frequently really helps the later skills for the build. |
|
Destruction Engine |
Amon gains increased Forgeskill Damage and Detonation Damage |
5/5 |
Additional Forgeskill Damage when using Forgeskill more frequently is a nice addition, as is being able to deal more damage with Detonations from the Action Skill. |
|
Endless War |
Primed enemies take increased Gun Damage for each stack of Prime. If Amon Detonates a Primed enemy, a new Forge Axe is spawned that seeks out a nearby enemy. |
Augment |
Throw Forge Axes with the Action Skill into an enemy to deal more damage to said enemy, and kill them fast to see the same thing happen to a nearby enemy at no extra cost. |
|
Tempered Pyre |
Forgedrone Skill. Whenever Amon activates his Forgeskill, he spawns an Axe Forgedrone that attacks nearby enemies for a Duration, dealing Incendiary Melee Damage. Activating a Forgeskill while Tempered Pyre is active fully restores the Durartion of all active Forgedrones. |
1/5 |
20 seconds of a flying axe that will seek out targets to help against multiple enemies is always nice, especially when the Forgeskill will refresh quickly enough to keep it around forever. |
|
Twin Tempers |
Tempered Pyre now spawns an additional Axe Forgedrone that deals Cryo Melee Damage. Forgedrones from Tempered Pyre have reduced Duration. |
1/1 |
Two axes are better than one, so using a Forgeskill now provides a Cryo axe and an Incendiary axe to follow Amon around. |
|
Bellows |
Whenever Amon Activates his Forgeskill, he gains increased Gun Damage for a Duration. |
3/5 |
Building off of the importance of spamming Forgeskill, players can see +21% Gun Damage for 8 seconds, every 30 seconds. |
|
Impetus |
Kill Skill. Amon gains increased Shield Regeneration Rate and Movement Speed for a Duration. |
3/3 |
Kill things to build Shield Regeneration Rate and Movement Speed to ensure you never go down. |
|
Heavy Plate |
Amon gains increased Maximum Shield Capacity and Maximum Overshield Capacity. |
2/5 |
Later skills in the build will benefit from Amon having more Shield potential. |
|
Cacophany |
Amon gains increased Ordnance Damage and Detonation Radius |
5/5 |
Detonations are always nice, as is additional damage to powerful Ordnance Weapons. |
|
Tempered Ice |
Forgedrone Skill. Whenever Amon activates his Ordnance, he spawns a Hammer Forgedrone that attacks nearby enemies for a Duration, dealing Cryo Melee Damage. |
3/5 |
Yet another Forgedrone, summoned easily by activating an Ordnance. |
|
Masterwork |
Forgedrones gains increased Damage and Duration |
5/5 |
All active Forgedrones will receive a huge buff in damage and their duration, ensuring they're sticking around for the whole fight. |
|
Snowmaul |
Double-Edge is now Snowmaul. Throw a Twinned Forgehammer, dealing Cryo Melee Damage to nearby enemies on impact that Ricochets between nearby enemies up to 3 times. If no Ricochet targets are found, it deals Damage an additional time before destroying itself. For each Detonation caused, it Ricochets an additional time. |
Capstone |
Snowmaul has the same Forgeskill cooldown as Crucible, and it provides more damage, along with the ability to Detonate and Ricochet between enemies. |
|
Tempered Lightning |
Forgedrone Skill. Whenever Amon activates his Action Skill, he spawns a Sword Forgedrone that attacks nearby enemies for a Duration, dealing Shock Melee Damage. Activating an Action Skill while Tempered Lightning is active will partially Restore the Duration of all active Forgedrones. |
5/5 |
Another Forgedrone means more allies for Amon, and the constnat use of Action Skills means the active Forgedrones will have their Duration constantly extended. |
|
Armor of Contempt |
Amon gains Overshield when he deals Action Skill Damage. |
5/5 |
Overshield provides Amon more protection, which is assured since he can constantly spawm his Action Skill. |
|
Raging Inferno |
Action Skill Damage has a chance to Critically Hit. Additionally, Critical Hits from direct Action Skill Damage applies Burn. |
5/5 |
While not necessary, this is useful for getting the next skill listed, and the ability to Critically Hit does allow for more damage. |
|
Reactive Armor |
Detonations partially Restore Amon's Shield and Ordnance Cooldown. |
3/5 |
Detonations caused by Amon's abilities will reward him with more Shield and more use of his Ordnance. |
|
Ordained Hammer |
Hammer Forgedrones now deal Ordnance Damage in addition to their other types and gain a Chance to cause a Detonation on damaging enemies, dealing Cryo Damage in an area. |
1/1 |
Ordnance damage just means more damage, and pairing that with the chance for Detonation, players will have a destructive path ahead. |
This build relies on Amon's Forgeskill, Ordnance, and Action Skill to continuously summon Forgedrones. These Forgedrones will essentially be followers and allies to Amon, offering him self-serving battle axes and swords which will float around and seek out targets to bash. Forgedrones are great for controlling ad-aggressive situations, or even for piling up damage numbers on a boss. Other skills used in this build will help Amon deal more damage to single targets by Priming targets with an Action Skill, which comes back regularly, along with Detonations to regain Shields and Overshield to always stay healed, and always stay on the move. This build is a tad more fragile than a melee build, but it's great to just spam Action Skill, Forgeskill, and Ordnance every couple of seconds to stay healed, destructive, and powerful.
Best Weapons and Gear for Crucible Amon
Players can run any weapons and gear that they'd like with their build of choice, but Amon is always complemented by weapons and equipment that allow him to be at close range to his targets. Amon's Crucible build is reliant on his ability spam to bring in Forgedrones, but he can use guns to his advantage. The Shotgun, Rainbow Vomit, from the Wildcard Mission, A Lot to Process, is great for close-range fights. This is also the case for Ohm I Got, an SMG from Bramblesong in Bittervein, an Auger Mine located in Stoneblood Forest, Terminus Range. The Shotgun itself fires a trio of elemental types, and the SMG focuses on Shock damage, with a +50% Damage at the cost of Shield energy.
A decent Shield is also essential, and we've found that the Weatherproof Sparky Shield is perfect for this build. This Shield can be obtained by killing Shadowpelt in Whistler's Maw, an Auger Mine in Cuspid Climb, Terminus Range. This Shield has decent regeneration and will Shock nearby enemies when it's not full. As for Repkits, anything with fast surges of healing is effective, especially one with 2 Charges, as healing should be a last resort for when the Shields are depleted.
Ordnance is important for this build, so we went for a Rocket Launcher Heavy Weapon Ordnance, as it provides fast-firing and hard-hitting damage, which also has a shorter cooldown than most other variations. For the Class Mod, try and focus on ones that provide Damage Reduction, Skill Damage, Shield Regeneration Rate, and./or Maximum Shield Capacity, along with a few Skills in the green tree. Enhancements are last, and the least important, as players can just focus on anything that buffs their preferred weapon selection.
Best Specializations for Crucible Amon
When players start to earn Specializations, they will want to invest in Survivor and Brute. Survivor increases Health and Shield, whereas Brute increases Gun Damage. The more points in Survivor, the better, as players can use Bullets Are Scared Of Me for an increase to Damage Reduction, and The Best Defense for an increase to Damage. There's also Riddle You This for the Brute tree, which provides +50% Damage just by simply dealing damage with guns. Players can then invest into Runner for Bullet Train to hipfire while sprinting, or they can focus on Gadgeteer to get more use out of their Ordnance.
Best Firmware for Crucible Amon
Players have a few Firmware choices to pick from, but here's what we invested in:

This blend of Firmware allows players to not only have more Health and Shield Capacity, but they will also reduce the cooldown of their Action Skill and Ordnance to make sure they always have the abilities they need to slay the threats before them.
