This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
The Uchiha Clan was once one of the most prominent families in Konoha. When the village itself was formed, the Uchiha were the dominant family in the village, along with the Senju clan. Many years later, now, neither the Uchiha nor the Senju are dominant. That said, the Uchiha clan still exists, with Sasuke Uchiha as its very head, and Sarada as the leader of the next generation.
Say Goodbye To The Rinnegan, And Welcome An Even Stronger Eye In Boruto
The Rinnegan has become obsolete in Boruto. This new eye is far better now.
Their Kekkei Genkai, the Sharingan, is still alive and well, and fans know that even Sarada has now unlocked her Mangekyo Sharingan, ensuring that the legacy of the clan continues. However, the strongest Sharingan of this clan, that is, the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, is officially set up to die in Boruto forever. Unfortunate as that is, this eye will no longer exist in the near future, and an intriguing alternative instead has been set up.
The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan Will Officially Die With Sasuke In Boruto
- Only Sasuke And Madara Had The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan
- Sarada Cannot Get The Full Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan
As fans know, the evolution of the Sharingan is quite interesting in the Boruto series. The Sharingan is an eye that is essentially tied to the concept of loss of love, and the hatred that emerges from it. It is extreme shock that causes the awakening of the Sharingan. To turn it into the Mangekyo Sharingan, one needs to experience tremendous grief stemming from the loss of a loved one. This often causes the curse of hatred to kick in, and the stronger this curse of hatred is, the stronger the power of the Sharingan gets.
However, the Mangekyo Sharingan is a double-edged sword. The more this power is used, the more blind the user gets. To mitigate this blindness, the only thing that one can do is to turn the Mangekyo Sharingan eternal. The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan can be awakened once the eyes of a blood relative, usually a sibling, are implanted in the body.
In this world, wherever there is light, there are always shadows. As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will also exist. The selfish desire for peace gives rise to war. And hatred is born in order to love. — Madara Uchiha, Naruto
Madara Uchiha was the first person to get access to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and he achieved this by taking the eyes of his brother, who entrusted them to him following his own fatal defeat at the hands of Tobirama Senju. After Madara, Sasuke Uchiha went on to receive the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and he got this power after the death of Itachi. Sasuke took his eyes and gained immense ability.
Sarada Will Have To Figure Out A New Way To Avoid Permanent Blindness
It goes without saying that Sasuke still has access to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan in the Boruto series. However, he is most certainly going to be the last one. This is simply because there is no one who can actually give Sarada an eye to make her Mangekyo Sharingan eternal.
Sarada has already awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, and she will face the consequences of its use as well. Sarada will become more blind, but unlike Madara and Sasuke, she won't have anyone to take the eyes off. Sasuke is still alive, and even then, he only has one eye. Unless Sasuke dies, Sarada will not get his eye.
I might've just awakened this eye, but I know exactly what it does. I will not waver any longer. — Sarada Uchiha, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
Boruto: Why Sarada Might Have The Strongest Mangekyo Sharingan In History
Sarada has a lot of potential in Boruto. She might unlock the most powerful Mangekyo Sharingan.
Kishimoto knows well not to kill off Sasuke Uchiha and this all leads to one scenario, that is, Sarada figuring out another way to combat the blindness of Mangekyo Sharingan. This is something that Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura could help her with.
The blindness caused by the Mangekyo Sharingan is inevitable. Itachi was able to sustain his Mangekyo Sharingan for years, but by the time he fought Sasuke, he was almost completely blind. Sasuke used his Mangekyo Sharingan so extensively that he was almost blinded in just a few months.
Sarada cannot use this eye for long, and eventually, will have to come up with an alternative to combat this blindness, and that is where Sakura comes in.
Sakura's Creation Rebirth Could Aid Sarada Uchiha
As fans know, Sakura has the power of the Byakugou. By carefully storing chakra precisely over a long period of time, Sakura has awakened this seal which gives her infinite regeneration for a specific amount of time. During this time, Sakura can suffer any form of damage and recover from it. This means that even bifurcation or decapitation means nothing to Sakura during this time.
If Sarada goes on to learn this power, then she can heal her eyes easily using this power, and she wouldn't have to awaken the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan to make full use of her eyes.
Of course, this is something that will happen well into the future, but it is still inevitable at this point in time. Sakura is the only hope for Sarada at this point in the story, and this is doubly exciting because it will also give Sakura a special role to play in the story.
