This article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is dropping a new and exciting chapter in October, but most fans are losing patience because of Naruto Uzumaki’s continued absence despite being the strongest shinobi of all time. Worse, there appears to be no clear timeline for Naruto’s comeback, making the wait more unbearable and frustrating.
To be fair, the Boruto manga is not exactly Naruto Uzumaki’s story, and it makes sense to give Boruto and the next generation of ninjas room to shine. Still, fans can’t help but feel his presence is needed now more than ever, as Boruto struggles against Jura and the Shinju Clones. Sidelining Naruto is a risky move, but it seems like Kishimoto has other plans in mind.
Boruto: Naruto Uzumaki Could Gain 1 New Kekkei Genkai After Return In Boruto According To Kishimoto
Naruto Uzumaki lost some of his powers, but he might gain a new Kekkei Genkai when he returns in Boruto.
Naruto Uzumaki’s Return Has No Clear Timeline
Naruto Uzumaki Is Still Sealed Away and Frozen in Time
- Naruto's return in Boruto: TBV is still uncertain.
- Naruto has been sealed by Kawaki in the Daikokuten dimension since Boruto Part 1 Chapter 77.
For many fans, waiting for Naruto Uzumaki’s comeback in Boruto feels like a test of patience, as it has no clear timeline. To this day, there are no concrete signs that Naruto will reappear, not in a flashback nor in any form that affects Boruto’s present challenges. His continued absence leaves fans speculating about his role, as well as the power-ups he will potentially gain in the future.
Naruto Uzumaki was sealed in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 77, along with his wife, Hinata Hyuga. Only a few characters know what truly happened to Naruto and Hinata, but most of the people in Konoha believe Boruto Uzumaki killed his father due to the reversal brought about by the effects of Eida’s Omnipotence. Boruto is now Kawaki and vice versa, creating a tense situation where trust and identity are blurred.
As much as fans would love to see Naruto step back into action and dominate battlefields once again, his return remains uncertain. It won’t be a surprise if Kishimoto decides to release Sasuke Uchiha first from his tree-state, which could further delay Naruto’s much-anticipated return. However, fans remain hopeful, considering the author's habit of drawing parallels between chapter numbers that suggest Naruto’s comeback might happen in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 77.
Kishimoto Will Release Sasuke Uchiha Before Naruto Uzumaki
Sasuke Uchiha Will Return After Hidari’s Death
Boruto and the others were so close to releasing Sasuke Uchiha from his tree-state after they took down the Shinju Hidari in Konoha. They even retrieved Hidari’s Thorn-Soul Bulb, which fans now know is the key to undoing Sasuke's tree-state. Unfortunately, with Jura’s intervention, Boruto’s goal to free Sasuke became far more complicated and dangerous.
Now, Hidari is back on his feet, and it seems like he is stronger than before. Still, knowing that his thorn soul bulb can actually release Sasuke provides a crucial advantage in the fight. With the increasing tension between the Shinju and Konoha, the fight that will determine Sasuke’s freedom is coming closer than Naruto Uzumaki’s long-awaited comeback.
I know this will likely get under your skin, but I want to consume Naruto Uzumaki—Jura to Kawaki
It’s clear that Kishimoto is prioritizing Sasuke’s freedom with Hidari’s continued exposure and relevance in the manga, leaving Naruto’s appearance for a later, more suspenseful moment. In addition, he seems to be setting a fight involving Hidari and another character, likely Sarada or even Sakura, to raise the stakes before Sasuke’s rescue in the upcoming arc.
Kishimoto Will Eventually Release Naruto Uzumaki From Daikokuten
Boruto Still Needs Naruto Back
To this day, Naruto is still sealed inside the Daikokuten dimension due to Kawaki’s desire to protect him from Code and the Otsutsuki Clan, who want the strongest shinobi dead and gone. Since then, Naruto has been frozen in time, missing the chance to gain new abilities or intervene with the Shinju conflict at hand. He’s just there, lying unconscious in stasis, completely removed from the chaos unfolding in Konoha.
Despite this, fans know that Kishimoto will eventually bring back Naruto Uzumaki in the Boruto manga. If he was done with Naruto, he wouldn’t have built up so much suspense around his sealed state, especially now that Jura is more than determined to devour Naruto. With Jura closing in, Naruto’s return is all but inevitable and fans will eventually be rewarded.
