This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

In the world of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto established many powerful ninja clans over the years. Within Konoha itself, there are quite a lot of powerful clans, and among them, the Uchiha always stand out on top as the strongest as well as the most intriguing ones. The Uchiha Clan existed before the creation of Konoha even happened. In fact, the Uchiha were primarily responsible for the creation of Konoha by joining hands with the Senju, led by Hashirama.

However, eventually, the Uchiha were mistreated in a village that they helped establish and driven into a corner. This led to a planned coup, but before that could happen, Itachi Uchiha took it upon himself to wipe out all of them, leaving behind only himself and his brother. Itachi eventually died, leaving Sasuke as the sole survivor. While fans had hoped that the Uchiha would be resurgent in Boruto, that hasn't happened, unfortunately. It seems that the time to say goodbye to this legendary clan is now drawing closer, and fans need to be prepared for that major possibility.

The Uchiha Clan Is The Most Legendary Clan In Naruto

  • A clan that has produced legends like Madara and Sasuke

When it comes to legendary clans in the world of Naruto, the Uchiha will always be the most prominent one. The lore of this clan is so intriguing that Kishimoto centered half of his story, if not more, around them. The biggest of the villains always came from the Uchiha, and the best abilities always stemmed from them. The Uchiha will always be the backbone of the Naruto series, and that will never change.

Even in terms of powers, it is always the Uchiha who hold the most intriguing abilities. Be it the basic Sharingan or the enigmatic Mangekyo Sharingan that grants the power of the Susanoo, along with many other abilities, the Uchiha have always had the best and most intriguing powers. Even the Rinnegan is directly tied to the Uchiha, given that only they can go on to awaken this power by fusing the chakra of Indra and Asura. It's quite clear that the Uchiha will always hold a special place in both the lore of the story and the hearts of fans.

Unfortunately, it seems that with time, the Uchiha are starting to get less focus, and eventually, they will simply cease to exist because their numbers are clearly not great enough. Sasuke Uchiha is the primary leader of the Uchiha clan, but he has already been cast aside in the Boruto series and sealed away. Sasuke can't do much from his current position, leaving Sarada behind as the only proper Uchiha in the story. This clearly goes to show that the Uchiha Clan is incredibly close to extinction at this particular point in time.

  • The Uchiha Clan doesn't matter as much in the Boruto series

It is clear to see that the Uchiha clan is edging closer to extinction in the Boruto series, and the one primarily responsible for that is the authors, Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto. It cannot be denied that the Uchiha have become a thing of the past in the Boruto series. They do not hold on to the same enigma as before, and they are certainly not half as important as they were in the Naruto series.

Of course, fans don't want the plot to feel redundant, but at the same time, the Uchiha should get more focus than they have so far. The only relevant Uchiha in the current timeline is Sarada, and she clearly is the last of the bunch. After Sarada becomes the Hokage, fans will most likely not see a continuation of the Boruto series, which means that the clan will most likely die with her, unless she goes on to further the line later down the line, which seems unlikely at this particular point.

In essence, the Uchiha clan will most likely end with Sarada, and that truly is heartbreaking for the fans to see.

Even With Sarada, The Uchiha Are Not Important Anymore

  • The Uchiha have lost all importance in the Boruto series

It goes without saying that the fans won't actually get to see the Uchiha clan go extinct in the Boruto series. Regardless of what happens in the future with the Uchiha clan, the fact is that it has already died a symbolic death. The Uchiha only have two active individuals, and when it comes to the next generation leaders, only Sarada truly exists as a driver of the plot.

More than that, it must be kept in mind that even though Sarada Uchiha is the leader of the next generation of the Uchiha Clan, the lore surrounding this particular group of people itself is non-existent in Boruto. Sarada has her own goals, and they are to save the village and become the Hokage. However, that has nothing to do with the Uchiha Clan at all. In essence, Kishimoto and Ikemoto have succeeded in detaching Sarada's character from the Uchiha Clan, and making her something completely different from the get-go.

Of course, Sarada still utilizes the power of the Uchiha, such as the Sharingan and the Mangekyo Sharingan, but in essence, the clan has already died a symbolic death, with Sasuke being its last true member. It is unfortunate that the Uchiha, who once held tremendous importance, have been reduced to a shell of their former selves due to a plot surrounding invading aliens. Hopefully, that can go on to change in the future.

Fans Want Sasuke Uchiha To Return Immediately

While the Uchiha will continue to die a slow death symbolically in the Boruto series, fans still hope for the return of Sasuke. At the very least, with Sasuke Uchiha active in Konoha, fans will see the essence of the clan on display once again.

Unfortunately, there are no more proper Uchiha in the Boruto series to drive the lore of the clan as well as the lore of Indra Otsutsuki forward, but there is still Sasuke, who could go on to uncover great secrets later down the line. Unfortunately, Sasuke is not one of the main characters of the Boruto series anymore, so the chances of that happening are very low.

Still, fans would love to see him in action one more time as he takes on exciting enemies in battle alongside his daughter. When it comes to the defense of Konoha, the Uchiha should always be at the forefront of things, and Sasuke and Sarada, being the last two members of the clan, should always lead from the front.
