Of all the characters in Boruto, Himawari Uzumaki has tremendous potential to surpass Naruto and Sasuke in the future, apart from her brother. Having Hyuga and Uzumaki in her blood, it’s her destiny to awaken her true power sooner or later. Fans know that Himawari will only continue growing stronger, following in the footsteps of her brother and father. Who knows, maybe she could even surpass them both.

While Boruto: Naruto Next Generations showed a gentle and harmless Himawari, Two Blue Vortex is drastically switching things up due to the current events caused by Eida’s omnipotence, Kawaki’s obsession with Naruto’s safety, and the emergence of Jura and the Humanoid God Trees. It’s as if Himawari has no choice but to step up and fight not just for herself but also for her family.

Ikemoto Hints at Himawari’s True Power Awakening in Future Chapters

The First to Sense Himawari’s Terrifying Potential

Himawari Uzumaki is best known for her role as Naruto and Hinata’s only daughter in Boruto. Many fans remember her for awakening the Byakugan early on, which happened during the day of Naruto’s Hokage inauguration ceremony. However, she only had a few relevant moments in Part 1 of the manga, appearing when necessary. Fans have never seen her fight in Naruto Next Generations at all, as she remained under the protection of Naruto, as well as Boruto and Kawaki.

Despite this, Himawari has all the potential and the qualities she needs to become a powerhouse in Boruto. Her gentle and innocent appearance should not fool fans, as a powerful force rests within her. Of all the characters in Boruto, Daemon was the first one to sense an intense power within Himawari. Not even Naruto nor Hinata felt this intensity, which instantly intrigued fans around the world.

She does seem weak from up close. But then, what was that intensity I felt from her just now?—Daemon

Because of this, fans thought that Daemon felt Kurama resting inside Himawari. But, in a recent Q and A, Ikemoto clarified the hidden power that Daemon felt within Himawari at the time:

Q: Was the "intensity" Daemon felt from Himawari due to Kurama?

Ikemoto: Well, Himawari inherited both the Uzumaki and Hyuga clans' blood, and those factors have a synergetic effect with Kurama's chakra. It's more like he sensed the enormity of that potential within her.

From this, it’s clear that Himawari is a ticking time bomb, possibly carrying divine-level power. It’s not about her genes anymore, as her bloodline synergizes with Kurama’s power. This means she might be carrying a far superior strength, unlike anything fans have ever seen before. Kurama’s influence never fully disappeared at all, as it remains inside Himawari. The question now is, when will Himawari tap into the full potential of her power? It will definitely happen in the future.

How Strong Is Himawari Now?

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Himawari finally has the motivation to grow stronger, not just to help Boruto amid the effects of omnipotence but also to save her family. She now knows how to fight, and her moves are exceptionally sharper than anyone else's. It would not be a surprise if she grows even stronger, as she never fails to train every single day. Gone was the gentle and timid Himawari, as she turned into a capable Leaf shinobi who could hold her own against a God Tree.

At this point, many fans are aware that Himawari is the current jinchuriki of the Nine-Tailed Fox for some reason. Kurama guessed that she may have been born with a sliver of his chakra because Naruto is her father, or it may just be her destiny brought about by her bloodline. What’s certain is that her chakra has a higher affinity with Kurama than Naruto had, which speaks volumes about her future strength.

Could Himawari Surpass Boruto?

As one of the strongest female characters in Boruto, Himawari also holds the potential to surpass Boruto someday. While Boruto seems leagues ahead, due to his out-of-this-world abilities, the groundwork is being laid for Himawari to continue growing stronger.

Boruto is indeed stronger now, but there’s a chance that things will change in the future. She could awaken into something even greater in the Boruto series than her brother and father, and it may only be a matter of when. Who knows, she may even control Baryon Mode without any limitations, making her a force to be reckoned with.
