This article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.
Naruto Uzumaki isn’t at his best form in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, with Kishimoto and Ikemoto doubling down on portraying him as a “has-been” hero whose vulnerability and loss of power force him to rely on the next generation of ninjas in Konoha. He’s passing the torch to Boruto, Sarada, and even Himawari, a move that feels inevitable and controversial among hardcore fans.
Still, Naruto is Naruto, and fans want the one and only legendary shinobi back, no matter what kind of future awaits him in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga. However, bringing him back now won’t guarantee Naruto Uzumaki’s survival, as his power level makes him far more vulnerable than ever before. With godlike enemies targeting Naruto, his return could easily turn for the worse.
Naruto Uzumaki’s Power Has Declined in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
A Look At How Weak Naruto Has Become
- Naruto Uzumaki has grown weaker in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
- Naruto needs help to return to the outside world.
There’s nothing more difficult than fans seeing their favorite ninja waste away, especially when that ninja is Naruto Uzumaki, who has defeated the most powerful villains and inspired an entire generation through his unbreakable will. He was once the savior of the world, along with Sasuke Uchiha, but he is now a trapped and weakened ninja unable to lift a finger against the enemies threatening Konoha.
With Naruto sealed away in the Daikokuten dimension, there’s no clear explanation of what kind of condition he’s in now. Last time fans heard from him, Naruto was frozen in time, unable to grow stronger, train in secret, or even sense what was happening to his precious village in the outside world. Similar to an NPC, Naruto Uzumaki now exists in a state of forced stillness, while the world moves on without him.
It goes without saying that Naruto’s power level has declined, especially after he lost Kurama. While fans are still debating whether Naruto has access to Six Paths Sage Mode, it’s clear that his overall strength has taken a major hit, just like Sasuke, who lost his Rinnegan and was unfortunately turned into a tree.
Naruto Wouldn't Survive a Serious Battle Against Jura
Jura Wants Naruto Uzumaki Dead
Jura’s full power has yet to be revealed, but based on his remarkable displays of strength not just in Konoha but also in the Land of the Wind, he might very well be the strongest character alive in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex at the moment. His overwhelming presence and effortless dominance in battle suggest that even the current Naruto Uzumaki would struggle to stand against him.
Boruto Uzumaki is one of the characters who acknowledges Jura’s terrifying strength, and Kashin Koji backs it up with his own visions of the enemy’s destructive potential. Boruto can’t solo someone like Jura—not yet, at least. Even with his new power-ups and refined techniques, Boruto still needs Kawaki and Momoshiki Otsutsuki’s cooperation to face Jura, hoping they can take him down before he seriously goes after Naruto.
Boruto, with what I do now, all the people in this village are like a family.—Naruto Uzumaki to Boruto
With Jura targeting Naruto, time is running out for Boruto and his allies. If they anger Jura for real, which Shikamaru and the others are desperately trying to prevent, the consequences could be catastrophic. One wrong move might provoke Jura to launch a full-scale attack on Konoha, reducing the village to nothing before Boruto even gets the chance to see Naruto again.
Naruto’s Time Will Come, But It’s Not Now
He Could Return Stronger Than Ever or Not at All
If Kishimoto and Ikemoto wanted Naruto Uzumaki dead, they could have done it a long time ago in Boruto, instead of putting him in another dimension with Hinata. This narrative choice suggests that Naruto’s time will come, but not anytime soon. Delaying his return keeps emotions high and anticipation even higher, even though fans are growing restless to see the Seventh Hokage return to his post.
In addition, Naruto’s absence invites more theories about his return, whether he will come back with a shocking power upgrade, a new and overpowered technique perhaps, one that will allow him to keep up with the villains and the rapidly advancing next generation. For now, however, fans should keep their expectations low, considering there’s no clear way for Naruto Uzumaki to grow stronger while he remains sealed in the Daikokuten dimension.
