It's been years since Naruto Uzumaki was taken out of the equation in Naruto Next Generations, and fans are desperately waiting to see him return to the main plot. At this point in time, there is no imminent return for Naruto Uzumaki, but it seems that the author might have dropped a big hint about when he will finally make a comeback.

Naruto Was Sealed In Boruto Chapter 77

Naruto Uzumaki was sealed quite late in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. After the battle against Isshiki Otsutsuki finally ended, Naruto Uzumaki was left a shell of his former self, and fans had to accept that he was not anywhere near as strong as he once was. At the same time, the threat from the likes of Code only increased, which only meant that Kawaki was spurred into action quickly. With that, it was quite easy to see why Naruto Uzumaki was sealed. While the deed itself was evil, Kawaki did it to keep Naruto safe until he wiped out all the Otsutsuki, including his brother, Boruto Uzumaki.

For those who don't remember, Naruto Uzumaki was sealed away in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 77. Along with Naruto, his wife, Hinata Hyuga was also sealed away. Since then, fans have been wondering when he will finally make a comeback, and the answer might actually be in front of them.

Ikemoto Draws Parallels Between Chapter Numbers

Boruto Chapter 24 From Both Parts Were About Kawaki

It has recently come to light that Ikemoto tends to draw parallels between the chapters in Boruto Part 1 and Part 2. For example, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 24 was titled “Kawaki,” and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 24 was titled “Kawaki Uzumaki.” Clearly, the author likes to give a nod to the first part of the manga every now and then.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 77 Might Bring Naruto Back

Naruto Uzumaki Could Finally Be Back

Just as Boruto chapter 24 from both parts pertained to Kawaki, fans think Naruto Uzumaki will make a return in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 77. If this were to be the case, it means Naruto probably won't return for almost 5 more years, which is depressing to think about. Of course, this assumes Boruto does manage to run that long in the first place. At the very least, what fans are certain about is that Naruto Uzumaki will eventually return, no matter what. It might take more time, but the return will definitely happen.

I realize that Boruto started as a sequel to Naruto, but due to Naruto's massive presence, it's been a pretty tough road to travel. Boruto has finally emerged as a proper protagonist in his own right. But will he be a hero on the same level as his father? Or maybe even surpass him? To be honest... I'm not entirely sure what'll happen, myself. That'll depend on the support of our readers, so please keep on cheering for us. —Ikemoto

For now, it doesn't seem like Naruto Uzumaki will be back anytime soon. Fans will have to wait to see what Ikemoto has in store for him. Given where the story is right now, Naruto's return seems far away. The Shinju haven't fallen yet. After that, fans will also have to see the return of Akebi Otsutsuki, and of course, Boruto and Kawaki's battle can't be forgotten. All this has to happen before Naruto returns. In other words, this will take at least 30-40 chapters, which means the most important character in the franchise won't be back anytime soon, which is rather disappointing.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex's next chapter is set for its official release on October 19, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
