The Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series has been absolutely incredible so far, and fans have loved all the major developments surrounding the main cast. Boruto Uzumaki has become an incredibly intriguing protagonist, and fans can't wait to see how he develops as a ninja in the story. Naturally, with all the main cast of ninjas developing in the Boruto series, comparisons with the old generation are a given. Boruto features a very talented generation of ninjas, and as is usually the case with Naruto, the new generation is on the path to surpassing the old one.
Even when it comes to a prodigy like Itachi Uchiha, fans know for a fact that even h e has been surpassed in the sequel series by none other than the protagonist, Boruto Uzumaki. While Itachi was hailed as a massive genius the likes of which comes once in a generation, Boruto Uzumaki has outdone him when it comes to being a genius, and it's only a matter of time before Boruto establishes himself as one of the biggest ninja prodigies of all time.
Boruto Uzumaki Is A Bigger Prodigy Than Itachi Uchiha
Boruto Uzumaki has always been the total opposite of Naruto Uzumaki. Whereas Naruto Uzumaki was born with little to no talent, Boruto Uzumaki was the opposite. Fans know Boruto to hold tremendous talent as a ninja right from a very young age. In fact, Boruto even mastered three nature types in the Academy, something that is simply unheard of. Boruto Uzumaki is a monster when it comes to learning applications of chakra as well. For instance, as a mere Genin, Boruto learned how to create the Vanishing Rasengan, which is an advanced Jutsu that requires the application of Nature Transformation to the Rasengan.

He even mastered the usage of the Karma to a certain extent, and now, in Two Blue Vortex, he's a monster who can fight the likes of the Otsutsuki. Quite clearly, Boruto Uzumaki is a generational talent. As a grown-up ninja, Boruto has learned Jutsu like Rasengan Uzuhiko, and he has even created his own version of the Flying Thunder God, although inferior. His fighting prowess is incredible as well, as is his foresight as a ninja. In every way possible, Boruto Uzumaki is a bigger prodigy than Itachi, and that's what makes him special to Konoha.
Boruto Has Created His Own Jutsu
There is no denying that Itachi was a genius as well, and that he possesses far higher wisdom than Boruto. But, apart from wisdom, and specifically when it comes to combat and ninjutsu, Boruto Uzumaki is a bigger prodigy. Boruto has invented Jutsu that can defeat just about anyone, such as Uzuhiko and he managed to master all the Jutsu of Sasuke in a year. Boruto cannot be outdone when it comes to ninjutsu. Furthermore, he continues to grow at an unpreventable pace, and fans know that his ceiling is much higher than Itachi Uchiha.

Boruto's powers have grown so dramatically that he's easily an Otsutsuki Level ninja right now. Fans know him to be strong enough to defeat the likes of Kinshiki by himself and rival even Momoshiki or Isshiki. He is the savior of the world, and doing all that at a very young age makes him a bigger prodigy than Itachi.
Boruto Is A Ninja Who Protects From The Shadows Like Itachi
All the comparisons with Itachi don't stem from absolutely nothing for Boruto Uzumaki. Fans know for a fact that Boruto is just like him, when it comes to ninja ideology. Boruto is a disgraced ninja who takes all the blame for the sake of the village and protects them from the shadows. This is the same as Itachi Uchiha. Both Boruto and Itachi are incredibly powerful shinobi, but even in their ideology, they're quite similar, and that's what makes them stand apart.
Of course, Boruto may be a bigger fighting prodigy than Itachi but Itachi has far more wisdom, which matters little at the end of the day. They're both crucial parts of Konoha's history and that's what makes them beloved.
