Love Puts Matsuri in a Dangerous Position

An unexpected vulnerability among the Shinju clones comes into focus in the latest chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex as Matsuri goes toe-to-toe with her target, Konohamaru Sarutobi, while Ryu deals with Sarada, who has recently awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan Ohirume. As the fight between Matsuri and Konohamaru unfolds, Jura realizes that the concept of love carries a huge risk to the Human God Trees.

Love is an unfamiliar and complicated concept to the Human God Trees, one that derails their thought process and clarity. This becomes especially evident during Matsuri’s encounter with Konohamaru, as Moegi’s lingering feelings for the Leaf shinobi resurface within her and guide her actions and decisions. When they first met each other, Matsuri started blushing, and she had trouble breathing upon looking at him, much like a maiden in love.

The Shinju clones, especially Jura, are in pursuit of knowledge and information about the world they are born to. This delays them from destroying Konoha, as the village becomes a vital source of information. However, their pursuit of knowledge and intelligence also has a harmful side effect called love, alongside the concept of reasoning, which corrupts the judgment of the humans.

Upon seeing Matsuri’s disappointing fight with Konomaharu, Jura is quick to reiterate that they should not overlook the concept of love. After all, it is what corrupted Matsuri after she wavered in devouring Konohamaru due to her conflicted feelings. She was so close to her goal, but love held her back, allowing her to shed tears for her enemy and feel sadness, among other emotions.

Since the Shinju clones are adamant about following their instincts, Jura reveals that their instincts warn them to understand the very concept of love and overcome it. They remain as the major antagonists of the story, with Jura leading the group. Unlike Code, the Shinju clones take their time understanding the world before following their original driving instinct, making them even more dangerous.
