Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has changed the world of Naruto forever, and fans know very well that the series is bound to see even bigger and more catastrophic changes being made to the world, if the prologue is anything to go by. Right now, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is showing the fans the battles between the Shinju and the ninjas, and these are battles that must be absolutely won, or the whole ninja world could be jeopardized.

Naruto is an incredible main character that Boruto has yet to surpass.
As Konoha is the strongest of the ninja villages, it is no surprise to know that fans expect this village to have the strongest Hokage at the helm. Unfortunately, Naruto is sealed away, and Shikamaru stands in his absence. As such, Kishimoto has already decided to elect a new Hokage for Konoha, and it is most certainly not going to be Sarada, at least for now.

The first thing that fans need to keep in mind when discussing the Hokage position in Konoha is that Shikamaru Nara may be called the 8th Hokage, but he isn't actually the official Hokage. He is just in this position as an interim and he will eventually have to either take the position permanently, or someone else will have to step in. Based on the direction that the story is taking, it seems that Shikamaru is well aware of the fact that Naruto Uzumaki is alive, which means he's holding out for his return.

But, will Naruto return before Konoha's destruction? More importantly, can Konoha hold out without a proper Hokage for any longer? These are important questions to address and fans know very well that Konoha must resolve their issue quickly or be overrun by foes from all sides. The most logical answer to the problem is for Konoha to get a new Hokage as soon as possible.
Konohamaru Sarutobi Will Be The Next Hokage
Konohamaru Is Already Being Groomed For Command
While Shikamaru Nara is the Hokage right now, he won't hold this position for long, and he most certainly won't be the official 8th Hokage. That position seems to be reserved for someone already, and that's Konohamaru Sarutobi. As fans know, Konohamaru has had great buildup for becoming the next Hokage, right from the early Naruto days. More often than not, Kishimoto delivers upon the dreams of his characters, so Konohamaru becoming the Hokage should be possible.

At the same time, it must be remembered that Naruto most likely won't return until much later in the story. In other words, Kawaki and Boruto's battle has to happen first and Konoha will face destruction as well.
After that, the series will already be approaching its end, and that only means one thing: A New Hokage for Konoha.

Sarada Will Follow Konohamaru
The fact is that both Konohamaru and Sarada have to fulfill their dreams in the Boruto series, and if Naruto returns as Hokage, that would make it impossible. As such, Konoha's next, and possibly even immediate, Hokage is going to be Konohamaru Sarutobi, undeserved as that may be. He will eventually be followed by the 9th Hokage, and that's none other than Sarada Uchiha.
