This article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.
The Boruto series continues to introduce new characters with special roles in the shinobi world. From Jura and the Shinju Clones to the members of the now-defunct Kara organization, fans have met a wide array of powerful and mysterious figures that keep the story entertaining and unpredictable. Some fans love them, while others hate them.
Just recently, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex introduced Lord Kobu, who serves as the chief advisor or chamberlain of the Fire Daimyo. He has appeared in two or three chapters, but his role in Konoha, as well as his actions and decisions, never fail to provoke the Boruto fandom. It didn’t take long before the fandom hated Lord Kobu in the series.
10 Boruto Characters That Are Beyond Kage Level
Boruto characters are strong, and many of them have even surpassed the level of a Kage.
Lord Kobu Is Boruto’s Most Hated Character Right Now
Shikamaru’s Hokage Position Is Under Threat from Lord Kobu
Lord Kobu made his manga debut in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 26, where he came to Konoha as an observer on behalf of the Fire Daimyo. Based on his appearance alone, he seems like a shady character with a secret agenda in Konoha. He scrutinizes Shikamaru’s actions and decisions as interim Hokage, questioning his overall ability to carry out his responsibilities as head of the village.
Lord Kobu’s timing couldn’t be worse, as Konoha is already under the watchful eyes of the Shinju Clones, especially Jura and Mamushi. It goes without saying that Shikamaru has his hands full, ensuring the safety of the village, and now, he must also deal with someone like Lord Kobu, who knows exactly how to provoke him. If he says something wrong, he increases his chances of losing the interim Hokage post.
Because of this, Boruto fans are throwing hate on Lord Kobu, as well as the two elders in the Konoha Council, for stirring unnecessary trouble. Instead of bringing solutions, they bring more problems to Konoha, Shikamaru, Boruto, and the rest of their allies. His unexpected appearance in the manga isn’t by mistake, and it seems like Ikemoto has bigger plans for him that may bring harm to the characters.
Lord Kobu Could Face Death Soon
Kashin Koji Has a Deadly Plan for Lord Kobu
Boruto fans aren’t the only ones who want to remove Lord Kobu from the current arc of Two Blue Vortex. Kashin Koji is yet another character who plans to take out Lord Kobu as early as possible, not just to free Shikamaru from unnecessary burden, but also to eliminate a dangerous wild card whose presence could cause further chaos in Konoha.
After all, Kobu kept Shikamaru from carrying out his responsibilities, prioritizing his personal investigation instead of helping Boruto and friends in protecting the village from Mamushi’s attack. That said, Kashin Koji pulled off the unthinkable in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 30, using Yamanaka Inojin’s Mind Transfer Jutsu to force Lord Kobu into a dangerous situation.
We’re killing Kobu.—Kashin Koji to Inojin
With Inojin’s jutsu, they can force a quick death on Lord Kobu by simply manipulating his body to jump from the rooftop of the Hokage office. However, before Inojin could execute Koji’s audacious plan, Mamushi’s clones appeared before him. At this point, if Inojin releases the mind transfer jutsu, Kobu might realize how serious the Shinju situation in Konoha has become and change his mind.
Lord Kobu Might Be More Trouble Than Konoha Needs
Lord Kobu isn’t the type of character who easily backs down, even in front of ninjas who can easily give him a major beatdown. He fully understands his role and position, using it to exercise control over the Konoha ninjas, almost as if he has secret abilities that make him more dangerous than he appears.
On that note, once Kobu confirms Shikamaru’s activities with Boruto and Kashin Koji, he might bring more trouble to Konoha by forcing the interim Hokage to resign. Worse, he might assign an incompetent Hokage who doesn’t know a thing or two about the Shinju situation, further jeopardizing the peace and stability of the village. This might be the trigger that would lead to the destruction of Konoha, unless Koji achieves his secret plan of killing him.
