This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has enjoyed quite an exciting run so far, and with each passing month, major developments that shape the world are revealed by Kishimoto and Ikemoto. Fans have come to love the story so far, but it can't be denied that the fact that Naruto and Sasuke aren't around leaves a sour taste in their mouths. For Boruto to be perfect, Naruto and Sasuke have to return, and when they do return, their characters must play significant roles in the big battles to come. To do that, they both need exciting power-ups.

While Sasuke Uchiha's sword has already received a new upgrade after his timeskip training, fans know for a fact that Naruto Uzumaki has now been left behind. That said, the two are always meant to be equal, which means that no matter when he returns, Naruto will also get a power-up. When he does return, fans will definitely see him get stronger, and one of the ways he could gain new abilities could be through a new inner demon, Jura. Fans know Jura to be the biggest and the most powerful of the Shinju whose defeat is important for the survival of humans. However, his defeat doesn't have to be final. Jura has a strong case for being the next Inner Demon in Boruto.

Naruto's Next Power Up Could Make Jura His Inner Demon

The Naruto series is no stranger to the concept of Inner Demons. Right from the very beginning, fans saw Naruto Uzumaki with Kurama, until he eventually turned him into his biggest ally. The series continued to explore this concept with the other Jinchuriki as well, and it goes without saying that this concept continues to drive the narrative even today. In the Boruto series, Boruto Uzumaki has his own inner demon in the form of Momoshiki Otsutsuki, and more recently, Naruto's other child, Himawari Uzumaki, also received her own inner demon in the form of Kurama.

Come, Otsutsuki! I'll show you what the true resolve of the shinobi is like. — Naruto Uzumaki

Clearly, this concept is alive and well and the authors aren't afraid to reuse it in the series. For that reason, Naruto getting Jura’s power makes sense. Jura is a very important character in the Boruto series and fans will most definitely see him play a big role in the future. But, eventually, he has to fall. That said, Jura is also unkillable. It's already been made clear that his recovery rate and connection to the God Tree makes him beat immortal. But, more than that, Jura is a Tailed Beast incarnate.

Jura Has Officially Surpassed Kaguya Otsutsuki In Boruto

All the other Shinju have a Thorn Soul Bulb, and this bulb exists because they are made from someone else's chakra. However, Jura is different. He doesn't have a parent body, and instead, he's just the literal incarnation of the Ten Tails. In other words, even if defeated, Jura just cannot die and will keep coming back, which means a permanent solution for him needs to be found.

I know it! Naruto Uzumaki is still alive. Your reaction tells me that. — Jura to Kawaki in Boruto: TBV chapter 25

Naruto Needs A Kurama Replacement Immediately

Jura needs to be sealed away because he cannot be killed permanently, and at the same time, Naruto Uzumaki needs a replacement for Kurama. More than that, Jura is deeply interested in Naruto and perhaps his quest of wanting to know more about love will eventually lead him to meet the Seventh Hokage. In either case, Naruto is the only one who can teach Jura about love and forge a bond with him. If that's truly the case, then Jura could actually willingly stay with Naruto and become his very own Inner Demon after Kurama.

This would check all the boxes at once. Naruto's guaranteed power-up would be delivered, Jura's reincarnation would be kept in check, and finally, the character arc surrounding love would be dealt with as well. Fans will also finally see the bets Boruto characters line up and fight together, which is something they want to see desperately. All things considered, Naruto's return is essential to the plot, but a power up is just as important if the story is to flow consistently. For now, fans simply have to sit back patiently and wait to see what plans Ikemoto and Kishimoto have for him. Hopefully, in the upcoming few chapters, things surrounding Naruto become clearer as Jura is thrown into the spotlight again.
