Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is slowly moving towards its ultimate climax and fans are patiently waiting for the story to head to the point where Naruto Uzumaki officially makes a comeback. For those who don't remember, Naruto Uzumaki was cut out of the story when Boruto: Naruto Next Generations was wrapping up. He was sealed away by Kawaki until he completed his job of killing all the Otsutsuki, including Boruto Uzumaki. Only after that would Naruto Uzumaki be freed.
A New Naruto Replacement Even Better Than Boruto Is On The Way
Naruto is over, and it's getting a new and better replacement than Boruto.
In Two Blue Vortex, fans have received several glimpses of Naruto Uzumaki, but he's still incapacitated. Naturally, fans have started to wonder when Naruto Uzumaki will officially return to the story. As it so happens, the recent arc ending in Boruto has given fans a sort of an update on that. Naruto will remain sealed for now, but at the same time, fans now have more of an idea about when he will return. Needless to say, the return isn't imminent at all and fans will have to wait years to see their favorite Hokage return to the plot to affect it in any way.

The most recent arc of Boruto, held in Sunagakure, was massive for many characters, especially Sarada Uchiha and Kawaki. While Sarada awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan, Kawaki had his limiters officially removed, which meant that he was able to join the battle against the Shinju. Kawaki faced off against Jura and naturally, Naruto Uzumaki was the subject of conversation here.

Accordingly to Jura, the only person who epitomizes love in the world is Naruto, the Seventh Hokage. Jura wants to speak to Naruto and his instinct tells him to consume him to find the answers that he's looking for. Clearly, for Kawaki, the goal right now is to keep Naruto Uzumaki safe right where he is.
Say Goodbye To Naruto Uzumaki, And Welcome The New Strongest Character In Boruto
Naruto Uzumaki is powerful, but there is one stronger ninja in Boruto now.
This essentially goes on to confirm that while Jura is alive, Naruto won't return because Kawaki won't risk him being eaten by Jura. Given that Jura won't fall before the next 10-15 chapters of Boruto end, fans can take it to mean that a return for Naruto Uzumaki isn't imminent at all.

Naruto Uzumaki Won't Return For A Few Years Still

It must also be remembered that Naruto Uzumaki likely won't be freed until after the battle between Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki. Right now, this fight is nowhere close and it'll only start once the series hits its climax. In other words, Naruto Uzumaki won't return for the vast majority of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, sad as that may be. There is a silver lining, however.
The fact that Naruto won't return means that Ikemoto can't ruin his legacy anymore, which he has already done to a significant degree. Fans of Naruto would hope that he stays away from the main plot, given Ikemoto’s inability to do justice to legendary characters of the old era. It would be far better if Kishimoto himself started a new story on Naruto, especially given that he recently showed some interest in starting a new manga.
