This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is only getting better with each passing chapter, and fans are absolutely loving what they've seen so far. The Boruto series certainly had its fair share of issues, and one of them was certainly the lack of interesting plotlines in the first part. However, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has flipped the script completely. Furthermore, fans also recognize that it has added a unique twist to the story by portraying the protagonist as a somewhat hated villain. Against all odds, the Boruto series has officially reintroduced Itachi Uchiha in the story, only this time, in the form of Boruto Uzumaki, the new protagonist of the story.
Boruto: Kishimoto Reveals A New Eye In The Boruto Series, And It's Stronger Than The Rinnegan
The Rinnegan is strong, but it's far from the most powerful eye in Boruto.
Although labelled childish and spoiled at the beginning of the story, Boruto's character development has been absolutely incredible and he's now become a protector of the village that's willing to sacrifice even himself for those he loves. In terms of shinobi soul, being a nameless hero, and being perceived as a villain, the Naruto franchise officially has its Itachi Uchiha back in the form of Boruto Uzumaki.
Boruto Uzumaki Is The New Itachi Uchiha Of The Series
Boruto Sacrificed Everything Like Itachi
- Itachi was a protector from the shadows
- Boruto sacrificed his honor and life for Konoha
Itachi Uchiha is one of the most loved Naruto characters of all time, and this isn't a surprise. In fact, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that Itachi might well be the most loved Naruto character. In the Naruto Global Popularity Polls, Itachi Uchiha finished second, and that goes to show the immense love the fans have for this character. The main reason why fans love Itachi is simple: he was the personification of self-sacrifice.
Self-sacrifice. That is the true essence of a shinobi. — Itachi Uchiha
Itachi was perceived as a villain by the whole world bar a few, and he let his reputation get absolutely destroyed, all for the sake of his village. Everything he did in his life was for the village and to protect the peace that the previous Hokage fought hard to create. He disgraced himself by killing his Clan and taking the blame for it and by joining the Akatsuki and posing as an enemy. He even killed his own parents for his village. Now, all that wasn't necessarily the right thing to do, but he did it for his village.
Say Hello To Naruto's New Power Even Greater Than Kurama
Kurama was Naruto's greatest power, but he lost him. Naruto's next power-up will be even greater in Boruto.
Now, in the Boruto series, Boruto Uzumaki has officially taken this role. Boruto was lauded as the Young Master all around Konoha, yet, when Omnipotence struck, everything changed. Boruto was then labeled as the murderer of the Seventh Hokage. He was branded a traitor to the village. Even now, he is hated and wanted all across the ninja world. Yet, despite it all, he protects the village from the shadows, just as Itachi once did. He is a disgraced ninja who sacrificed everything for those he loves, and while he can try to clear his name, he simply continues to press on, because he knows the true value of being a ninja is self-sacrifice and perseverance.

Boruto Is Overpowered Like Itachi
Both Appear To Be Villains But Are Heroes in Their Own Right
It also helps that Boruto Uzumaki is quite overpowered like Itachi was. Both of these ninjas have been labelled as geniuses in their own eras. Itachi was so overpowered that he was the strongest when he was alive, and even Pain and Obito cowered in fear due to his mere presence. Meanwhile, Boruto is the strongest that humanity has right now against the Otsutsuki, and that also makes him very similar to Itachi Uchiha.
