This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

The Boruto series has given the fans quite a lot of exciting things to look forward to over the course of the last few years, and it has also introduced them to many new powers, thanks to the incredible collaborative work of both Kishimoto and Ikemoto. As seen at the beginning of the Boruto series, the most intriguing new power that the story has introduced is Karma. Karma is essentially the DNA of an Otsutsuki inscribed into a human which eventually decompresses and takes over the body, making them the next vessel for these alien beings.

However, now, in the series, Kishimoto has introduced a new power system and it is potentially even stronger than the Karma of the Otsutsuki. This new power system is that of Tailed Beast Incarnation. As is quite clear in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Tailed Beasts can now officially incarnate into human bodies, and they are much stronger than the likes of the Jinchuriki. In fact, the strongest Tailed Beast Incarnate is actually even stronger than an Otsutsuki, as is clear with Jura.

As far as the Tailed Beasts go, they aren't all that relevant in the Boruto series. So far, only three have appeared in the story. Gyuki was briefly shown in the Boruto movie, while Kurama was with Naruto for a significant period of time. The 10 Tails remains as important as ever in Boruto. Aside from these three, no other Tailed beast made an appearance in the story, which goes to show that their importance isn't as high anymore.

The Fourth Hokage entrusted me to Naruto, we became friends and now he’s able to use my Chakra. The Fourth sealed me into Naruto to take you down. — Kurama to Madara Uchiha

However, not only are the tailed beasts being removed, but the entire system in which their power was used is now changed as well. Jinchuriki are officially outdated in the Boruto World. Now, Tailed Beasts are shown to reincarnate as humans. This was seen clearly with Jura, who is essentially the incarnation of the Ten-Tails itself.

Jura is unlike any other Shinju in Boruto and his powers are on a completely different scale when compared to the others. In fact, it has been established in the story that Jura is even stronger than Isshiki, and that his powers are such that he essentially cannot even be killed.

Just like Jura, Boruto has introduced the fans to another powerful Tailed Beast Incarnate, and that is none other than the daughter of Naruto and Hinata, Himawari. Initially, fans thought that she was just the Jinchuriki of Kurama. However, the story has now made it quite clear that she is not a Jinchuriki but instead the incarnation of the Tailed Beast itself. This means that Kurama will no longer have any Jinchuriki in the future.

Listen closely, Himawari. You are not a Jinchuriki. In terms of power, you're more similar to Jura, if anything. The power is completely different. — Kurama to Himawari Uzumaki, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

It also means that Himawari is most likely going to be the strongest user of Kurama's powers when compared to anyone else, and that includes Naruto. Her control over Kurama's chakra is going to be far greater than that of anyone else's, and overall, she's simply going to be far stronger than all those who came before her.

The new power system established in the Boruto series now sees Tailed Beasts gain renewed importance in the plot. Just as Kurama has his own incarnation in Boruto, fans will most likely see other Tailed Beasts gain incarnates as well.

For instance, Killer B, if he were to ever have a child, would likely see the power of Gyuki being passed on to them. Similarly, any other Tailed Beasts could incarnate as a human as well, which should boost their importance in the series and give them new powers.

This would be a brilliant way for Kishimoto to tie the Tailed Beasts back to the main plot and make the fans happy as well. The concept of Tailed Beast Incarnates might not make much sense at the moment, but with more time, more details about this will eventually be revealed and fans will come to accept it for what it is.

A lot remains unknown about this concept in the Boruto series for now, and fans can only hope that, eventually, the author will go on to reveal all the deep secrets behind it, as well as show the fans why it was introduced in the first place instead of the Jinchuriki system.
