These powerful individuals first teamed up in the battle against Madara Uchiha during the Fourth Great Ninja War of Naruto. At the time, fans saw Tsunade, Lightning A, Onoki, Mei Terumi, and Gaara team up against the threat of Madara. Their combined might was absolutely immense, even though they did not manage to defeat the calamity in front of them.

In the Boruto era, the Five Kage are stronger than ever before, and fans know very well that, together, they have managed to keep the world at peace, at large. However, now, Boruto has seen the introduction of a ninja so strong that he easily overwhelms the Five Kage. This new ninja is none other than Boruto Uzumaki, especially after his new Karma power-up.

The Five Kage have always been the absolute pinnacle of strength in the Naruto world. A Kage is generally considered to be the strongest ninja in the village. As stated earlier, in the Naruto series, fans saw the Five Kage go head-to-head against Madara Uchiha. Even though they lost, it cannot be denied that they gave Madara a very intense battle. Had it not been for Edo Tensei, it is highly likely that Madara would have fallen here against the might of these five absolute monsters, especially given that he did not have both of his Rinnegan and was severely nerfed at this point.

In the Boruto era, the Five Kage are once again shown to be monsters in the battle against Momoshiki. They were able to successfully push Kinshiki on the back foot, and until Momoshiki absorbed the power of his guardian, they still held the upper hand. Having Naruto on their side helped a lot as well, since he was doing the heavy lifting. Regardless, the Five Kage continued to be a symbol of peace in the Boruto era as well.
Even in the coming future, the Five Kage will continue to be a symbol of peace and strength against all enemies that might threaten the ninja world. That said, there have always been shinobi who can be stronger than the Five Kage combined.
For instance, in the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara Uchiha surpassed the strength of the Five Kage. The likes of Might Guy also went on to surpass the Five Kage's powers, and fans know very well that Naruto and Sasuke managed to surpass them as well. In the Boruto era, the Five Kage were initially stronger due to the inclusion of Naruto, but the current Five Kage are much weaker.

After mastering the many abilities that he gained during the timeskip, Boruto is in a league of his own, and his power surpasses that of the Five Kage combined.
For starters, Boruto Uzumaki was trained by Sasuke during the timeskip and he learned all the Uchiha Jutsu that he possibly could during their one year of training together. He then ran into Kashin Koji, who gave him abilities that he would go on to learn in multiple timelines, making him the best version of himself that could possibly exist.

Naruto and Sasuke will eventually return in Boruto, and stronger than ever.
Fans saw a glimpse of Boruto's newfound abilities when he took on Code in battle, and it was clear to see that he was overwhelmingly stronger. This already puts Boruto at a level beyond the average Otsutsuki. But, on top of that, Boruto Uzumaki has now gained the power of the Karma.

After making a deal with Momoshiki, Boruto has offered his body in exchange for great power. With this power, Boruto can easily overwhelm the Five Kage without even using half of his strength, and that paints a terrifying picture of how strong he truly is right now.
Boruto Uzumaki has access to powerful Jutsu, such as Rasengan: Uzuhiko, that can one-shot any kage quite easily. He has the Flying Thunder God that adds to his versatility in combat, and above all, he has the power of Karma, which nullifies all ninjutsu used against him and grants him a tremendous strength buff as well. He has also awakened the Byakugan, which only makes him more difficult to fight, and all these things combined make Boruto a monster that the Five Kage cannot even hope to beat in combat at the moment.
Boruto Will Get Even Stronger In The Future
What's even scarier is the fact that Boruto Uzumaki is not even at his full strength. He has the potential to grow even stronger in the future. For now, Boruto is only using the first stage of his Karma. Eventually, he will go on to awaken Karma Stage 2, and when he does that, he can bring out the full power of Momoshiki and combine it with his own.
When that happens, Boruto will easily surpass even the strength of Isshiki Otsutsuki, becoming one of the strongest in the series rivaling even Baryon Mode Naruto. It is possible that Boruto might even gain newer powers, but of course that all depends on how much further Ikemoto wants to take this story. Consistent powerscaling is clearly not the strength of this series, but one thing that fans can say for sure is that Boruto will continue to grow stronger in the future.
Whether fans like this strength scaling or not is a different question entirely, and clearly fans have had divisive opinions on this. However, at the end of the day, that is how the Boruto series has been set up to be, and that's something that fans need to accept at this point.
Their favorite characters that once stood tall as the symbol of strength, such as the Five Kage, are no longer all that relevant in the story. Boruto Uzumaki surpassing them easily has proven that, and there are many other characters, such as Kawaki, Sarada, and even Himawari, who can achieve this level as well.
