This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
Sasuke Uchiha is, undoubtedly, one of the most powerful characters to have ever lived in the world of Naruto. Even in the Boruto era, Sasuke Uchiha was an absolute monster for the vast majority of the first part, and fans got to see a ton of exciting action from him against the likes of Momoshiki Otsutsuki, Jigen, and even Isshiki. Sasuke shone bright as the strongest member of the Uchiha clan not just in his era, but in all of history. His powers were absolutely incredible, having mastered the Mangekyo Sharingan as well as the Rinnegan.
Boruto: Kishimoto Officially Confirms Naruto Uzumaki Has Been Surpassed By His Biggest Rival
Naruto has a big rival, Sasuke, who has finally overtaken him in Boruto.
That said, a new generation is on the rise in Boruto and fans know very well that Sasuke Uchiha is no longer around. Sasuke's daughter, Sarada Uchiha has now become the center of attention from an Uchiha point of view and she's already surpassed Sasuke's current level. At the moment, Sarada Uchiha is the strongest of the Uchiha clan, and it is only a matter of time before she manages to hit even higher levels as a ninja. With her recent awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan, Sarada Uchiha has officially dethroned Sasuke as the top Uchiha, and even when Sasuke does return, Sarada will be one step above him.
Sasuke Has Officially Been Dethroned By Sarada
Sasuke Has Lost His Powers While Sarada Has Gained New Powers
- Sarada awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan
- Sasuke lost his Rinnegan
Sarada Uchiha having surpassed Sasuke Uchiha isn't as straightforward as one would think. This ended up happening in Boruto due to multiple reasons. The very basis of this happening was set in the Boruto series when Sasuke lost his Rinnegan.
I'd better take out that pesky Rinnegan right now! — Momoshiki Otsutsuki to Sasuke
Say Hello To The Next Hokage In Boruto After Shikamaru
Shikamaru won't be Hokage forever, and the next one has already been decided in Boruto.
As fans know already, Sasuke Uchiha lost his Rinnegan when Momoshiki Otsutsuki, who was in control of Boruto's body, stabbed his eye. With that, Sasuke lost his powers to a great extent and he became rather weak. Sasuke was far below his level and couldn't protect the village the way he wanted to anymore.
I realize that Boruto started as a sequel to Naruto, but due to Naruto's massive presence, it's been a pretty tough road to travel. Boruto has finally emerged as a proper protagonist in his own right. But will he be a hero on the same level as his father? Or maybe even surpass him? To be honest... I'm not entirely sure what'll happen, myself. That'll depend on the support of our readers, so please keep on cheering for us. —Ikemoto
At the same time, Sarada Uchiha grew stronger in the Boruto series. She recently awakened the powers of the Mangekyo Sharingan and with that, she has now officially surpassed her father. Sarada's new Mangekyo Sharingan jutsu, Ohirume, allows her to create and control up to four black holes and they're so powerful that they absolutely crush even monstrously powerful ninjas like the Shinju. With powers strong enough to one-shot even the likes of Otsutsuki, Sarada is now officially the strongest Uchiha at the moment.
It's alright to use that power of yours to protect those you love. — Yodo to Sarada Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha Could Catch Up and Surpass Sarada
Sasuke Is Still Very Powerful
Sarada is well and truly above Sasuke's level right now. However, Sasuke could eventually catch up when he returns in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Sasuke is already hinted to have gained new powers, and when he does return, he's going to have to show that he's a competent fighter. Kishimoto most certainly wouldn't like Sarada Uchiha being several times stronger than Sasuke when he does come back. Sasuke is lined up to hit a new level of power in the future, and fans can only hope that he can stand side-by-side with Sarada after his return.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex's chapter 27 is set for its official release on October 20, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
