Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has been generous in giving characters new power-ups, regardless of whether they are a hero, villain, or someone caught in between. As long as the Shinju and the Otsutsuki Clan exist, the Boruto manga has no choice but to continue evolving its characters, especially Boruto Uzumaki, who is poised to surpass Naruto Uzumaki in the shinobi world.
For Boruto to reach that point, he must defeat the Shinju, particularly Mamushi, who is currently attacking Konoha with a problematic ability. Shinju Mamushi’s division ability reminds fans of Naruto’s Shadow Clone jutsu, as multiple copies of himself roam around Konoha, each one seeking Eida’s location. Through Mamushi’s division ability, finding Eida’s exact location will be a piece of cake.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 28 sheds more light on Mamushi’s division ability, which the Shinju uses to track down Eida’s location in Konoha. As shown in the same chapter, there were multiple copies of Mamushi, each one searching relentlessly for Eida while attacking everyone, including Boruto Uzumaki, who stands in their way.
Mamushi's division ability looks similar to Naruto’s Shadow Clone technique, but the clones are more than just simple duplicates. While Naruto's Shadow Clone Jutsu leaves the user vulnerable by having an original, Mamushi’s Division ability eliminates that weakness entirely, as there is no actual original to attack. In Division, it goes without saying that fighting each copy is just like fighting the real Mamushi.
For more information, Mamushi’s division ability allows him to produce exact copies of himself, with the same chakra, power, strength, and instinct. In other words, each copy or duplicate is completely independent, retaining Mamushi’s full power and instincts, effectively multiplying his offensive and defensive capabilities many times over.

Each Shinju Clone has a primary target they want to consume, and in Mamushi’s case, he wants to devour Eida and bring her superior genetic information under his control and possession. Eida may be defenseless against Mamushi’s strength, but Daemon’s presence, as well as Boruto and his allies, prevents him from attacking freely.
However, with Division, Mamushi has a strong chance to overwhelm his opponents while simultaneously hunting Eida. After all, each copy of himself has a strong desire to consume Eida, leaving her with limited options to find a safe escape route. In fact, Kashin Koji’s prescience already showed Eida’s unfortunate fate, highlighting the urgent need for immediate intervention to prevent Mamushi from getting his hands on Eida.

In the worst-case scenario, Mamushi could evolve further after consuming Eida, or a powerful Shinju clone of Eida could emerge. This will be more troublesome for Boruto and Konoha, as Shinju Eida will likely possess her shinjutsu combined with the overwhelming power and super regeneration of a God Tree, making it difficult to counter her.
How to Beat Mamushi’s Division Ability
Mamushi’s Division Ability Is Not Invincible
While Kishimoto and Ikemoto designed Shinju Mamushi’s Division to be a serious threat, the ability does have exploitable limitations. Boruto Uzumaki knows exactly how to counter Mamushi’s division, all thanks to Kashin Koji’s information, which they eventually shared with Shikamaru and the rest of the ninjas participating in the mission to neutralize Mamushi before Eida or even Himawari could die.
As revealed by Kashin Koji, Mamushi’s intelligence and sense of pain diminish as more duplicates appear, and they tend to stick together, making a sneak attack from a single copy nearly impossible. To exploit these weaknesses, Boruto and his allies need to limit the number of Mamushi’s duplicates to between 20 and 30 bodies before taking them down for good.
Most importantly, the most effective way to eliminate a Mamushi clone is to take out its eyes, as doing so will instantly neutralize a clone, preventing it from duplicating further. If Boruto and the others execute this strategy without fail, they have a chance to save Eida and avert another major crisis.
