This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha conquered the Boruto series as two of the strongest ninjas in the world. However, in their current state in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the rankings of the most powerful in the series have drastically changed. In Naruto and Sasuke’s absence, quite a few characters in Boruto have stepped up their game and demonstrated just how powerful they are.
At the moment, the list of the strongest characters in Boruto is composed of modified cyborgs, godlike aliens, tailed beasts, and geniuses. Truly, the rankings have changed from a list dominated by elite ninjas to a far more diverse list packed with unexpected contenders. Say hello to these characters who are reigning supreme in the Boruto series at present.
Say Goodbye To Naruto Uzumaki, And Welcome The New Strongest Character In Boruto
Naruto Uzumaki is powerful, but there is one stronger ninja in Boruto now.
Himawari Uzumaki
Himawari Uzumaki is one of the most improved characters in Boruto. She went from a regular kid with no combat experience to a full-blown ninja who can stand against a God Tree in just a short amount of time.
While Himawari is far from being an ordinary ninja due to her ties with the Uzumaki and Hyuga clans, no one expected her to become the incarnation of the Nine Tails. In fact, she is more compatible with Kurama than Naruto, which means she has tremendous potential to surpass her father.
After she awakened her Tailed Beast abilities, she could already unleash Tailed Beast bombs in succession, and not to mention, heal her injuries and extend the effects to others.
Sarada Uchiha
Sarada Uchiha surprised fans with a busted Mangekyo Sharingan ability in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Her Mangekyo Sharingan Ohirume obliterated the Shinju Ryu completely, leaving only his thorn soul bulb. Her MS ability, which uses the power of gravity, can instantly kill a target, especially when they are caught off guard.
Beyond unlocking Ohirume, Sarada is now determined to face all the challenges that come her way. She isn’t afraid of facing anyone, including her feelings for Boruto. More than anything else, she is motivated to follow her dreams, protect her friends, save the village, and become a Hokage someday.
Code
While Code has been missing in action for quite a while now, it goes without saying that he remains a powerful villain. He is the creator of the Shinju Clones, and without him, they wouldn’t have gained sentience in the first place.
Before the timeskip in Boruto, Code was the strongest villain that Boruto and Sasuke had to overcome. He was also one of the reasons why Kawaki decided to seal Naruto in the Daikokuten dimension.
Code inherited not just the White Karma from Isshiki Otsutsuki but also his will. He is a loyal servant, and his obsession with completing his master’s mission fuels his desire to grow stronger. After Amado removed his limiters, Boruto and Kawaki were no match for him.
Hidari
Hidari is a God Tree that emerged from Sasuke Uchiha, making him a significant threat to Konoha. His target is none other than Sarada, and he aims to consume her by using Sasuke’s abilities. While Hidari failed in his first attempt to devour Sarada, it became difficult for the next generation of ninjas in Konoha to stop him.
Just like the other God Trees, Hidari can use the Claw Mark shinjutsu and combine it with Sasuke’s abilities, such as Chidori and Lightning Release. He can also use Fire Release on top of Earth, Water, and Wood. More importantly, he has the Rinnegan in both of his eyes.
Mamushi
Mamushi is yet another God Tree that emerged from a template. His chakra source is Bug, and he also inherited the latter's obsession with Eida for some reason. Right now, Mamushi is terrorizing Konoha with his ability called Division, which allows him to duplicate perfect copies of himself. This ability is far superior to an ordinary Shadow Clone technique, as his copies serve as his real self with the same mana and killing intent.
Mamushi also showed how powerful he was against Boruto when the latter appeared before him in the Shinju hideout. He was able to overwhelm Boruto, slamming him onto the walls with ease. Like the other shinju, he can also use Claw Marks and perfectly hide his chakra signature.
Daemon
At first glance, Daemon looks like an ordinary kid who loves to play pranks on others. He is playful and cheeky, but don’t be fooled by his childish appearance. He possesses an overpowered shinjutsu called Reflection, which allows him to use the powers and killing intent of his enemies against them.
No character in Boruto has managed to harm Daemon, not even Boruto and Kawaki. Not to mention, no concrete counter to his ability has been determined, making him untouchable in the series.
Momoshiki Otsutsuki
To this day, Momoshiki Otsutsuki is terrorizing Boruto Uzumaki from the inside. While he has been lying low after the time skip, it doesn’t erase the fact that he still holds immense power enough to convince Boruto to avoid Karma.
And speaking of power, Momoshiki has a new role to fulfill in Boruto. His power is crucial in defeating Jura and the God Trees, making him a game-changer in Boruto’s future fights with the shinju clones. If he gets to control Boruto after completing the end of his deal, he will truly become a force to be reckoned with in the story.
Kawaki Uzumaki
Kawaki Uzumaki is Boruto’s strongest rival, having been able to utilize Isshiki Otsutsuki’s abilities without fear of losing himself. He can use the full powers of his reconstructed karma, giving him access to different kinds of shinjutsu from Daikokuten, Sukunahikona, and more.
Just recently, Kawaki’s limiters have been disabled, which gave him more power than ever. He can overwhelm Jura with a combination of attacks, surpass the God Tree’s regeneration, and even pin his eyes like a piece of meat on a skewer. He is expected to grow even stronger with Amado adjusting his settings once more.
Boruto Uzumaki
Boruto Uzumaki has come a long way in his own story. His rapid growth is highly impressive, having surpassed Naruto and Sasuke after the time skip. He even received overpowered upgrades, from the Rasengan Uzuhiko, which uses the earth’s chakra as firepower, to the Uchiha Style Blade Technique: Hagoromo, and the ability to use the full power of karma without losing control.
Many characters have helped Boruto become stronger in the series. Sasuke taught him everything he knew, from ninjutsu and taijutsu to even the way of the sword. Kashin Koji, on the other hand, accelerated his training by feeding him intel of his future abilities, while Momoshiki lends him his Otsutsuki abilities for the sake of defeating Jura.
Jura
Jura is the leader of the God Trees and arguably the strongest character in Boruto right now. He is the direct incarnation of the juvenile Ten Tails, and the rate of his evolution is faster than anybody else's. His intellect is also impressive, and the way he responds and adapts to his environment shows how sharp his instincts are.
During the collision in the Land of the Wind, Jura playfully led Boruto and Kawaki into thinking that they could take him down. While he received damage from his enemies, his super regeneration effortlessly healed his wounds. From Boruto’s perspective, defeating Jura will require not just his and Kawaki’s strength but also the full power of Momoshiki Otsutsuki.
Just like the other shinju, Jura can also use Claw Marks for surprise attacks. He can also levitate, unleash accurate and devastating Tailed Beast Bombs in succession, and use Wood Release. Besides Boruto and Kawaki, Jura was also shown overpowering Code with his abilities. The rest of the Shinju in the series are also afraid of him.
