This article contains spoilers for the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

Summary

  • Boruto understands the concept of love and how it motivates his actions.
  • Boruto may be starting to develop feelings for Sarada, unaware of her and Sumire's affection.
  • Fans anticipate a deeper exploration of Boruto's feelings for Sarada in future Boruto manga chapters.

Love moves in mysterious ways, and so it did in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. It derailed Matsuri’s thinking, forced Boruto out onto the battlefield, and convinced Sarada to accept her feelings. Love might be a flaw for Jura, but it’s the other way around for Boruto. He believes that’s the sole reason why Jura and his kind can never be more than just God Trees in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

And speaking of love, Boruto remains clueless about Sarada and Sumire’s feelings for him to this day. He is preoccupied with the more urgent matters, such as Naruto and Sasuke’s predicament, Code’s evil intentions, Momoshiki’s return, and the threat of the humanoid God Trees. Even so, it’s slowly becoming clear that the Boruto manga might be setting up the reveal of Boruto’s true feelings for Sarada sooner than fans thought.

The Truth About Boruto’s Feelings Might Be Revealed Soon

Boruto Understands What Love Is

  • Boruto teaches Jura a lesson about love.
  • Boruto completely understands what love is all about based on his discussions with Jura.

While Sarada recently came out in the open about her feelings for Boruto in Two Blue Vortex, the rogue ninja from the Leaf Village remains unaware of the romantic feelings his potential love interests hold for him. He is clueless about the rivalry that exists between Sarada and Sumire, as he is laser-focused on accomplishing his personal goals at the moment.

However, the situation could change at any moment as Boruto finally revealed he understands the concept of love. He knew love was what forced him out of the open to protect Sarada and his friends despite Kashin Koji’s opposition and Jura’s threat. He completely understood the weight of the consequences of his actions, and yet he allowed himself to go with the flow because of love.

You're gonna be Hokage, right? Then I'll be your right-hand man! And work hard to protect you.

As Boruto continues to fight Jura in the Land of the Wind, the concept of love strangely becomes the topic of their conversation. Jura is incredibly interested in understanding this concept through Boruto, who simply told his enemy he would never pin the definition of love no matter what he does. If this conversation continues even further, it might not be long before Boruto realizes his feelings for Sarada.

Is Boruto Starting to Catch Feelings for Sarada?

Boruto’s Feelings for Sarada Might Be More Than Just Friendly

  • Boruto considers Sarada a significant part of his home in Boruto.
  • Boruto cares deeply about Sarada, watching over her from day one.

While Boruto has never sat down to think about his feelings for Sarada, his recent actions in the Two Blue Vortex manga suggest that love might be the reason behind his overly protective nature. Though unspoken, Boruto's growing affections may truly be guiding his recent actions toward Sarada. If so, then love might be slowly replacing what Boruto once saw as simple friendship, alliance, and rivalry in Sarada.

Just like Sarada, Boruto may soon come to terms with his feelings, and it could only be a matter of time. Just think about the time when Boruto immediately told Sarada he was home while they were lovingly hugging each other when they reunited after the time skip. Fans know that home is where the heart is in most cases, so his words meant a lot when Boruto told Sarada he was finally home without hesitation.

You're late, stupid Boruto.—Sarada while jumping into Boruto's arms.

Their interaction might be a spur-of-the-moment thing, but compared to Sarada and Boruto’s past interactions, it was completely different. Fans felt the emotions of the two characters, who have been worrying about each other for so long. At that moment, they were similar to star-crossed lovers who had been deprived of time and freedom.

Boruto Is Catching on to Sarada’s Affection

Boruto Never Noticed It Before

  • Boruto feels anxious around Sarada.
  • Boruto and Sarada's reunion hug is a game-changer.

As mentioned, Boruto never thought of Sarada’s actions toward him as anything more than just friendship and allies in the series. He never even asked her if she was interested in him as a man, or anything like that, especially since Boruto: Two Blue Vortex isn’t exactly a romance-heavy series. But with the time skip and the reversed roles of Boruto and Kawaki, Sarada’s actions and feelings for Boruto began to come to the forefront.

So, when Sarada hugged Boruto, the latter immediately felt awkward after they shared a very special moment. That was the first time Boruto felt anxious around Sarada, with his eyes avoiding Sarada’s no matter what happened while Sumire watched in silent agony. He did not expect Sarada to throw herself at him when they reunited, voicing out his concerns in the most awkward way.

I didn't expect you to suddenly jump on me.—Boruto to Sarada after being reunited

This intimate moment is just the beginning, and fans know there should be more to come in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex as the plot unfolds. After all, the manga would not explore Sarada’s feelings without diving into Boruto’s sooner or later, so there are high expectations these two characters should come to an understanding in the end. Whether they end up together or not, there’s a strong chance Boruto: Two Blue Vortex won’t end their story without any clear status.
